including the iPhone 14 lineup comprising four different models, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch SE (2022) and the AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds.
'Far Out' was Apple's third event of the year after the 'Peek Performance' event in March and the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. While the March event saw the release of the all-new Mac Studio, Studio Display, a new iPad Air and the iPhone SE (2022), WWDC 2022 saw the company announcing the latest versions of its operating systems, including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, and watchOS 9.
While Far Out was Apple's biggest event of the year in of and MacBook Pros (14-inch and 16-inch) in October. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed that Apple will announce an updated Mac mini with the M2 chip later this year.
More Apple Devices Coming Soon
Another device that remained absent at this week's event was the next-gen AirPods Max. While the company did announce the second-gen AirPods Pro, they are the top-end wireless earbuds and not the rumored over-the-ear headphones that will be a much-needed upgrade over the first-gen model released in 2020. In fact, it's not even clear whether the headphones will be announced next month or if Apple will push the launch to next year.
Another device that didn't get an updated version at the event is the next-gen Apple TV box. The last updated Apple TV model was released in 2021 with a redesigned remote and HDMI 2.1, but little else has changed about the device in the past few years. The rumored HomePod with a FaceTime camera and Apple TV functionality also remained absent, but Gurman recently reiterated that such a device is indeed in the works and should make its way to the market at some stage. Finally, there was no mention of Apple's long-rumored AR/VR headset either, but if recent rumors are to be believed, the so-called 'Reality Pro' headset will be announced next January.
