Dwayne Johnson shares a behind-the-scenes image from the set of Warner Brothers confirmed that Black Adam would get his own solo movie back in 2017, the project is finally scheduled to premiere in October 2022. Black Adam follows the tale of Teth-Adam (Johnson) during his days as a slave in the fictional North African country of Khandaq. ing Johnson's lead as the titular character in the Shazam! spinoff are Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, and Pierce Brosnan.

Filming for Black Adam finally commenced in April 2021 and ran through August of the same year. However, Johnson's interest in the character began way back in 2007, with a working commitment finally solidified in 2014 when Warner Brothers and DC approached Johnson about the role. In the time since, the film has experienced delays related to the Covid-19 pandemic and Johnson's commitments on other projects such as Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019 and Netflix's mega-hit Red Notice in 2021. Given that filming on the project wrapped in 2021, post-production for Black Adam is now in progress.

However, in new a post to Instagram, Johnson has shared a behind-the-scenes image from the set of Black Adam, confirming reshoots are underway for the DCEU film. The photo shows Johnson back on the set with director Jaume Collet-Serra and one of the lead VFX editors. In addition to mulling over a series of complicated film shots the team looks to accomplish in the day's work, Johnson touches on his intense diet and exercise regime in preparation for filming the sequences in the post's caption, saying he's "feeling good and in the zone." Check out the image and full post below:

Johnson doesn't specific what kind of scenes he and Collet-Serra are working on, but his reference to "dial[ing] in my diet and training intensity for weeks" in preparation suggests the reshoots are for action-packed sequences. While the delays associated with Black Adam have been significant, other films in the DCEU film lineup are also feeling the effects of postponement. With Black Adam pushed back to an October 2022 release, the DCEU shuffled other premiere dates around, delaying both The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom until 2023. Warner Brothers and DC have attributed a mountain of visual effects work for the films' VFX teams to overcome as the primary cause for these further delays.

Given the number of delays surrounding the Black Adam film, some may feel slightly uneasy about reshoots happening this close to the scheduled premiere. Audiences are also anxious with anticipation regarding how the film looks to portray the Black Adam character, as Johnson has previously spoken about the much darker tone this film takes when compared to its more light-hearted Shazam! counterpart. However, assuming things remain on schedule, all will be revealed when Black Adam finally hits theaters later this year.
