The Dead Space remake through the new trailer highlight just how incredible the incomprehensible sci-fi horrors will look on next-gen systems. Although remakes can cause quite a bit of conflict among fans of iconic franchises, hopes seem to be high for Dead Space, especially since the original title still holds up today in spite of its age.

Dead Space raised the bar for action horror games in 2008, and players will get to experience Isaac Clarke and the horrifying Necromorphs once again in January of next year. Although a majority of aspects (including the complex story) will mainly be the same, Motive is enhancing and expanding everything about the sci-fi horror franchise that fans love. From Isaac's emotional state determining dialogue in Dead Space to expanded mechanics and upgraded visuals, the Dead Space remake will hopefully appeal to already-established fans and new players alike.

Recently, a Dead Space remake trailer posted by Playstation Latinoamérica suggested that the modern Dead Space title would be released on PS4 next year. According to IGN, that was simply a mistake, and Dead Space will only be releasing on new-gen consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as PC. Although the trailer led to exciting discussions about Dead Space being available on an older console (and maybe even Xbox One), the remake was announced with the intention of being a new-gen exclusive in the first place.

Trailer Falsely Hints at Dead Space Remake PS4 Release

It's not unreasonable that the revival of such an already impressive game would require new-gen power, especially since Dead Space will have no loading screens. The only time the remake will have to load is when Isaac dies, which may be quite often for some, since the sci-fi title is full of imposing action-filled moments. Motive seems to be focusing on the threatening and claustrophobic environments of Dead Space, as well as the terrifying sound design 2008's version had, even though what has been seen of the game's combat is still quite immersive.

Dead Space's visuals and feel are already quite intense, even in the brief looks at gameplay revealed so far, so being thrown into the mining spaceship as Isaac with even more realistic graphics than in 2008 will likely be exhilarating. A month before the Dead Space remake's release, the striking Callisto Protocol will also launch, with similar gory sci-fi visuals and action-packed gameplay. The director of Callisto Protocol is none other than Dead Space creator Glen Schofield. Although it is not quite as iconic as Dead Space, it'll be interesting to see how this game will contribute to the sci-fi horror genre, and how it will stack up to the Dead Space Remake.
