Disney’s Wishtakes place in the fictional Kingdom of Rosas, but the exact location of the island could be a mystery. Wish tells the story of Asha, a 17-year-old girl living in the Kingdom of Rosas under the rule of its founder, the sorcerer King Magnifico. The Wish movie cast is led by Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose as Asha and Chris Pine as Magnifico, featuring additional voice performances from Victor Garber, Alan Tudyk, Angelique Cabral, and more. In the Kingdom of Rosas, once a citizen turns 18, they have the opportunity to give their wishes to King Magnifico, who will hopefully grant them in monthly wish-granting ceremonies.

In celebration of Walt Disney Animation Studio's 100th anniversary, Disney created Wish, a musical fantasy filled with magic. This film follows a young woman named Asha who works to save her kingdom from a corrupt monarch with the help of her goat sidekick and a magical star. Along the way, there are plenty of songs to go along with the fantastical action.

After the lackluster release of Disney's Wish, fans of the company were able to reinvent sections of the film that vastly improved the story, including the role of Star. Wish follows Asha (Ariana DeBose) in the kingdom of Rosas who is trying to apprentice under the magical King Magnifico (Chris Pine), whose powers include granting the wishes of his subjects. When she discovers an unsavory truth about his methods, Asha, with the help of a fallen star, goes on a quest to depose the king and saves Rosas from his growing madness.

Chris Pine's solo song in Disney's Wish is a highlight of the movie, and it only gets better when taking his equally brilliant musical number from a 2014 hit film into consideration. Wish's voice cast sees Pine portray the character of King Magnifico, the villain of the film. Magnifico gets his own villain song, titled "This Is The Thanks I Get?!," which is arguably the best song on the Wish's soundtrack. However, it's easy to appreciate “This Is The Thanks I Get?!” even more after listening to another of Pine’s movie musical numbers.

The Wish cast is full of great actors bringing the characters of the fantastical Disney animation to life. Wish marks Disney’s 100th anniversary with a heartwarming origin story for the shooting star that flies across its iconic logo. Set in the Kingdom of Rosas, Wish revolves around a 17-year-old girl named Asha who senses grave darkness about to beset the land. Since no one else can see this darkness coming, she wishes upon a magical star to save the day. Wish's Disney Plus release date has now been revealed, and audiences don't have long to wait. Released in theaters in November, the animated Disney film follows Asha as she makes a wish and gets more than she bargained for when a mischievous wishing star comes down from the heavens. Directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, Wish earned mixed reviews from both audiences and critics and was a box office disappointment.
