While The Conners season 7 ended the Roseanne franchise once and for all, the sitcom’s many forgotten plot lines highlight just how disappointing an ending this was. Although The Conners season 7 was a letdown, Roseanne’s spinoff did at least acknowledge one major problem with the show’s final outing. The Conners’ large cast of characters was always a problem for the sitcom spinoff. The show started life as Roseanne back in 1988 and the popular family sitcom was revived in 2017, but series star Roseanne Barr was fired from the show thanks to racist tweets in 2018. Roseanne became The Conners, shifting its focus from the title character to the rest of her family.

Fishman played the role of the youngest Conners child for 10 seasons of Roseanne, before reprising his role in the spinoff The Connors, which he left after its fourth season. Considering the tumultuous way that it started, ABC found a gem in The Conners, which stemmed from the cancellation of the original revival. Because of the overwhelming of viewers, the network had to find a way to continue the show's after Roseanne Barr was fired from the project. It wasn't easy, but ABC couldn't have hoped for the show's performance, as The Conners has been embraced by old and new fans.
