At CinemaCon, Blumhouse has shared the first trailer for the highlight anticipated sequel, Five Nights at Freddy's 2. The horror movie is a direct sequel to their 2023 smash hit, which adapted the video game of the same name. While the video game's follow-up was a prequel, the Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which was helmed by returning director Emma Tammi, will feature the return of its core characters, including down-on-his-luck single father Mike (Josh Hutcherson), his daughter Abby (Piper Rubio), police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), and the menacing killer William Afton (Matthew Lillard).

Now, of course, FNAF has grown far beyond its roots, to the point that returning to the original title can even feel like it is somewhat lacking.

Five Nights At Freddy's: Secret of the Mimiccomes out later in 2025 and will continue the Steel Wool Studios era of FNAF games with its villain, the Mimic. While Security Breach and its DLC, Ruin, attempted to establish the Mimic as a threat, its lack of presence throughout the games and its lack of motivation have made it a lackluster villain. To replace William Afton as the series antagonist, Secret of the Mimic needs to let players connect with the Mimic and learn why it is so truly horrifying.
