As this era of Marvel video game adaptations continues, there are plenty of heroes and villains that would make great game protagonists, but one is more obviously suitable than most: the Punisher. Frank Castle's straightforward nature would make building a game around him less of a challenge than many other Marvel heroes would pose. An outstanding Punisher game would essentially just be a well-executed shooter, and in that regard there are plenty of games from which such a title could draw inspiration. 1974t

Although a co-op experience was scrapped from Max Payne 3, Rockstar Games should consider revisiting the idea for L.A. Noire 2. The sequel to the open-world detective thriller hasn't been officially announced, but a recent earnings report from Take-Two Interactive - Rockstar's parent company - suggests that there are plans for it. Gaming hardware has come a long way since the release of the first L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, and Rockstar's game design could use a break from its tried-and-true formula, so developing a co-op title would make sense.

According to someone familiar with Max Payne 3's development, the title originally featured a cooperative campaign mode starring Max and one of his old cop buddies. Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive purchased Max Payne's IP rights from Remedy Entertainment and Apogee for a sum of $34 million in 2002. In announcing the news, Take-Two confirmed that Rockstar would develop a third game in conjunction with Remedy, the franchise's creator. A teaser image from several years later promised a winter 2009 release date, yet players wouldn't revisit Max's gritty world until May 2012.
