Many speculate that Dave Filoniwill become the next president of Lucasfilm, but despite how much he's accomplished with the company, I believe this would be a bad choice for Star Wars. Reports recently circulated that current Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy would soon be stepping down. Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni has offered a promidate on his Star Warsprojects, including Ahsokaseason 2 and his untitled The Mandalorian-era movie. Ahsoka season 2 was confirmed to be in development alongside Star Wars' announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, which is being helmed by Jon Favreau. No other updates have been given ever since, which is also the case for Filoni's own Star Wars movie, which was announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023. Now, however, Filoni has had a chance to offer a promidate on both his Star Wars projects.

Lucasfilm's chief creative officer and George Lucas' Star Warsprotégé, Dave Filoni, is being honored with a prestigious Saturn Award, the George Pal Memorial Award. Filoni has been working for Lucasfilm since 2005, when he was hired by Lucas himself to help build Lucasfilm's animation studio and help make the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show. Since then, Filoni has worked as a writer, director, and producer on several Star Wars TV shows. This success recently earned him a promotion to chief creative officer of Lucasfilm, and he will helm the untitled The Mandalorian culmination movie.

An interview with Dave Filoni confirmed an original inspiration for Ahsoka's World Between Worlds, the Force nexus in Star Wars which brought back Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). As seen in Ahsoka episode 5, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) experienced a critical Force vision in which her spirit was taken to meet Anakin's in the World Between Worlds, first seen in the animated Star Wars Rebels show which Tano once visited with Jedi Ezra Bridger. However, the metaphysical realm with its many doorways across time and space was apparently inspired by C.S Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia.

While George Lucas may have created the entire Star Warsfranchise himself and remained at the helm for the original, he also returned to the prequels (much to the dismay of many fans). Besides Lucas, there have been a lot of other directors, taking on both official Skywalker Saga episodes and expanded universe tales.
