Acclaimed developer Valve is well-known for its tendency not to revisit franchises after the second entry, but that doesn't mean that a game like Portal 2can never be expanded upon. Portal 2 serves as a model sequel in many ways, taking the original game's interesting concept and story and expanding on it across the board without losing the fundamental ingenuity. It's hard to imagine a great way to revisit the Aperture Science Enrichment Center in Chell's shoes after the credits of Portal 2 roll, but there's still room for interesting surrounding stories in the facility. 6o93

All the way back in 2011, as the gaming company Valve was gearing up to release the highly anticipated Portal 2, a promotional tie-in comic titled Portal 2: Lab Rat was released, and it is truly a must-read for any fan of the beloved Portal series.

Valve's series Portal is widely considered one of the best puzzle games in recent memory, and both the original and its sequel Portal 2 still hold up over a decade after their original release. Given their continued popularity, it's little surprise that new content and spin-offs are still being released for the Portal franchise to this day. Aperture Desk Job was released as a tech demo for the Steam Deck console as recently as March 2022. Just a month earlier in February, Nintendo revealed that a Switch port of both Portal and Portal 2 would come out at some point later on in 2022. Then, in June, the Nintendo Switch version of the Portal: Companion Collection dropped without warning during a Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.

The Portalseries, which has been argued to contain some of the greatest games of all time, has finally found its way to Nintendo Switch. The Portal Companion Collection, available on the packed Nintendo eShop, contains both the original Portal and Portal 2, as well as bonus content found in Portal: Still Alive (a port of the first entry with additional material). Both games in Valve's puzzle-platform series have received nearly universal critical acclaim, and various spin-off media has been produced since the first title's initial release in 2007.
