In Marvel Comics, the Guardians of the Galaxy is a space-faring team of superheroes with a rotating roster of characters that almost always include the fast-to-temper firearm and explosives expert Rocket Raccoon. Recently concluding his time in the MCU (at least for the time being), a comic story set in Marvel’s distant future shows how Rocket can make his triumphant return to the silver screen, now with his family in tow!

Despite saving the galaxy multiple times, Rocket Raccoon rarely gets the respect he deserves - but it's a new low to be mocked by the Hulk. As the Avengers and the world fall to a spreading alien disease, Groot is left with only one ally - the Hulk. The genius mix of science fiction and comedy has hit a sweet spot with fans due to their portrayal in the MCU. Characters like Groot have begun getting their own solo series revealing their origins, and recently a new series debuted showing a new era for the Guardians as they go in a more Western direction. However, one noticeable change has seen Rocket Raccoon being left out of the story, leaving fans questioning why the smart mouthed, tech-centric bounty hunter disappeared. Now, they will get their answer as he's slated to finally make an appearance.Marvel took to Twitter recently to confirm that the newest Guardians of the Galaxy storyline by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and Kev Walker will feature the return of Rocket Raccoon in later issues. While his face isn't revealed in the featured artwork, Marvel promises readers "a Rocket [they've] never seen before." It's clear that Rocket is also taking a cue from his former team and pulling off a new Western-inspired design, including a gunbelt with his hands reaching for his weapon akin to a duel at high noon. While it's currently unknown when Rocket will appear, this confirms that he will have a part to play and a score to settle with his friends.
