With Shadow X Generations releasing only a few months before the third film, it was a fantastic entry point for Sonic 3 fans who wanted to learn more about Sonic's rival.

Sonic X Shadow Generations launched on October 22 and has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide since its debut weekend. While it has been a few weeks since launch, this is the first time in a while sales data has been released, giving fans of the franchise insight into the success of a nostalgic title.

Famed actor Keanu Reeves will appear as the voice of Shadow the Hedgehog in the game Sonic X Shadow Generations, but there's a catch.
