Daniel Dae Kim, the award-winning actor seen on shows like Lost and Hawaii Five-0, has finally landed his first lead role in a TV series after 30-plus years of working in television. Kim was born in South Korea, but emigrated to the United States when he was only one year old. After growing up on the east coast, Kim got his MFA in Acting from NYU and almost immediately launched a career as a television actor, getting his big break (as many actors do) on NBC's Law & Order.

The Hot Zone was a hit novel written by Richard Preston based on real events that occurred in the late '80s. Honestly, it's a bit surprising that it took this long to get an adaptation from the novel (though that's a whole story in itself). Still, over twenty years later, here we are.
