For fans of the Harry Potter series, it’s always fun to imagine what it would be like to live in the wizarding world. There are many different candies and sweets mentioned in the series, and some of them sound absolutely delicious. However, there are a few others that are a bit terrifying or disgusting. Here are the worst and the best of wizarding world sweets.

Acid pops

Acid pops definitely don’t seem like something that should be able to be sold to children. They might seem like a regular lollipop, but they have the ability to bore a hole straight through your tongue.

In fact, this happened to Ron when as a kid Fred and George gave him one. Fans just want to know if this always happens or if it depends on how one eats this candy.

Cockroach clusters

Honeydukes sounds like an absolutely enchanting place that's stocked with all kinds of sweets. While many of their offerings sound mouth-watering, there are also some that are very unconventional.

They are known to carry candies for non-human customers, including cockroach clusters. This definitely isn’t something most people would want to eat.

Blood-flavored lollipops

Given that there are many different kinds of being in the wizarding world, it makes sense there might be some strange foods there. Honeydukes even carry blood-flavored lollipops for vampires.

While this is pretty gross, the fact that it’s only a flavor and not actual blood makes it less disgusting than say eating cockroaches.

Toothflossing Stringmints

Honeydukes

These mints aren’t gross or harmful like the other things mentioned in this list so far, but they are also pretty boring. Compared to the more delectable candies and cakes found in the wizarding world, mints that floss teeth aren’t very exciting.

Although, it would make flossing easier to have a candy that did it for you automatically. Hermione even does this for her parents since they are dentists.

Ice Mice

Ice mice are another candy sold in the wizarding world that has an enchantment placed on them. These sweets make it so that the person eating them starts to chatter and squeak like a mouse.

While this might not be the most fun thing, it would be really funny to see. Also, it sounds like the candy itself is rather refreshing even if it does have a weird side effect.

Drooble’s best blowing gum

Chewing gum is something that’s enjoyable in our own world, but the gum in Harry’s world is a lot different and better. The great thing about these is that they never lose their flavor and they create bubbles that last for days.

These bright blue bubbles would be super fun to blow and seeing as how annoying it is when gum loses its flavor, fans definitely wish they had this in real life.

Fizzing Whizbees

Some of the sweets sold at Honeydukes make our own candies seem super boring. The fizzing whizbee is a rather popular candy among Hogwart students as it allows the to float a few inches from the ground.

Fans can see why this would be so appealing to pre-teens and teenagers. Plus, Fizzing Whizbees taste like delicious sherbet.

Pepper Imps

pepper imps

Pepper imps probably taste a bit weird, but assuming they just taste like peppermint and not actual pepper, they wouldn’t be too bad. However, either way, the fact that they allow the consumer to actually breathe fire makes them cool.

They also cause smoke to pour out of the consumer's ears and nose. While they are more of a novelty, who wouldn't want to feel like a dragon for a bit?

Chocolate frogs

Chocolate frogs are one of the Harry Potter confessions that people recognize the most. They are mentioned early on in the series. Firstly, the fact that they are also a trading card game makes them an exciting collector’s item.

They also seem to taste just like delicious chocolate. The only issue with them is that they can jump away from you if you don’t eat them fast enough.

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans

Bertie Bott’s is the most recognizable candy from the entire series. They are definitely iconic, but they are also a bit two-faced. The regular flavors taste delicious, but there are also some really strange and disgusting flavors including earwax.

Because of this, it's’ always a risk to take a bite. But, this is part of the fun.
