Your Reputation is something that increases and decreases throughout Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, affecting how people interact with you. Having a high Reputation will lead to more positive interactions with others, from better deals with vendors to new quest opportunities. Because of the benefits of a high Reputation, it is a hidden stat you'll want to build quickly as your adventures continue.

You can always check your Reputation level by going to the Player Tab menu for your character. The section titled "Reputation Page" will show your Reputation within specific areas, with different face icons reflecting high, average, or low Reputation. Every section of KC: Deliverance 2's large world map will have a different Reputation score based on your actions in those locations.

How The Reputation System Works

Help Others To Gain Respect

Henry with his head in the stockade in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Henry has a Reputation that can get better or worse at every location in KC: Deliverance 2, from the larger cities to the smallest village. Your Reputation grows or declines based on your actions while in certain places, reflecting how people feel about Henry. For example, if Henry is known to have stolen from somebody in a town, you will lose Reputation in that settlement.

A new roap has been revealed for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with a host of content updates both free and paid through the end of the year.

Reputation is also divided into groups of people, such as the guards, holy men, nobility, etc. Doing crimes in an area will lower your Reputation with guards while also lowering your status in the location itself. Factions of people and specific locations all start with 100 Reputation, which can be lowered or raised depending on your actions.

Getting punished in KC: Deliverance 2 will cause your Reputation to take a heavy blow, causing multiple groups to treat you harshly whenever you try to interact with them.

Whenever you enter a location, you can check your Reputation in the area itself and with every subsection of people that reside there. There are three categories of Reputation, with each altering how NPCs react to you as you explore various points of civilization. The categories of Reputation include:

  • Yellow Smiling Face - High Reputation
  • Orange Neutral Face - Mixed/Average Reputation
  • Red Angry Face - Low Reputation

Even if you haven't been somewhere before, having a bad Reputation can follow you to an undiscovered location. If you've committed several actions that lower your Reputation in one village, an adjacent town will already have a Mixed or Low Reputation of you. Likewise, you can actively harm an established Reputation in neighboring settlements if you drastically lower it in a location close to them.

How To Improve Reputation

Do Good And Be Kind To Others

To gain better judgment from people and places, you can raise your Reputation by doing good deeds in areas you visit. Treating people kindly is always a good way to gain favor with the masses, but there are some specific tasks you can do to bolster your Reputation further. Conducting yourself well within the eyes of the law tends to keep your Reputation stable at the very least.

How To Get a Free Horse Early In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Henry starts with very little in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and getting his horse back should be a priority, preferably without repurchasing it.

Here are some actions you can do to restore low Reputation or raise it beyond the standard Mixed reception you'll have at most places by default:

  • Save People In Random Encounters
  • Defeat Bandits Along The Road
  • Craft New Items Or Deliver Potions
  • Hunt Down Dangerous Animals
  • Resolve Conflicts Between Villagers
  • Pay Merchants More Than Their Asking Price
  • Sell Items For Less Than Their Value
  • Persuade Rather Than Intimidate
  • Pay Back NPCs Who Give Out Quest Rewards

Some parts of KC: Deliverance's story will inevitably require you to break laws or steal, but going out of your way to harm others will harm your Reputation. Completing any main story or side quests is another good way to boost your Reputation, especially early in the game. You want to improve relationships with everyone you can so word spreads of your good deeds.

If you find yourself with extremely low Reputation in many places, try to go on a pilgrimage or pay for an indulgence at a church to absolve yourself of sins and regain Reputation.

Tresing, pickpocketing, lockpicking, and murder are all surefire ways of losing Reputation, so try avoiding these actions unless they're necessary. While it may not seem like having a good Reputation is worth it, keep in mind that treating people well will reward you in time. For example, being fair in trade with merchants will improve your relationships with them, lowering the overall prices of their goods.

Staying healthy and keeping your appearance clean will also give you small bonuses to Reputation. Those with a good Reputation can start to see more opportunities appear with certain factions or in various locations, whether it's chances to make more money or new quests to embark on. You should always be looking to increase your Reputation in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as you seek to become a renowned figure everywhere.
