The 2022 year has only begun, and Marvel Studios has already offered much exciting content that fans cannot wait to see. One of these projects includes the Disney+ series, Moon Knight, set to release on March 30.
Recently, Marvel Studios released the first official trailer of Moon Knight, and fans cannot get enough of the newest and dark superhero. Of course, these fans posted their exhilaration and anticipation, remarking on the show's grittier tone and Oscar Isaac's range as the titular character.
Moon Knight Has Arrived!
For over a year, fans heard rumors about an Moon Knight series, but there were no confirmations for the longest time until Disney Plus Day on November 12. Disney released the first looks of the series and confirmed Isaac as the titular role. Of course, fans wanted more!
Luckily, fans did not wait too long for the official trailer. Even Twitter , @wandasolsen, remarks that Moon Knight has officially arrived in the MCU with footage showcasing the portrait of the gritty character.
Moon Knight Already Feels Different
Many fans noticed that the emotional and grim tone is remarkably different from most MCU movies and TV shows. It is not a bad thing, and if anything, it shows that Marvel Studios are willing to take risks in different directions.
One Twitter , darker approach to portray Moon Knight's storyline, which also diversifies the content in the MCU. Therefore, Marvel Studios might be spot on with their latest vision going forward in the MCU.
A Note To My Childhood
While new fans are excited to see how Marvel Studios execute this new superhero, more diehard fans are just excited in general to see one of their favorite comic characters. One of the best reactions comes from comic book writer @DanSlott.
He posted a delightful message to his 13-year-old self, sharing that a Moon Knight trailer will happen in the future. Many would not have imagined when they first read the comics, making the reactions all the more heartwarming. Plus, it is a rejoicing moment for many diehard fans to see their favorite character take the spotlight.
Move Over Boba Fett
Since Moon Knight will release on March 30, it will mark three months hiatus between the Marvel Disney+ series since The Book of Boba Fett.
However, the Boba Fett (who has experienced the worst things in Star Wars) hype into Moon Knight, with perhaps the perfect meme that sums that notion.
Someone Looks Familiar
The trailer revealed many things about its plot and narrative, including a few subtle hints about Marc Spector's origin story. These revelations include his diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder.
Some diehard fans like @declanshalvey pinpointed an oddly familiar character in the trailer. That recognizable character happens to be Khonshu, the source of Spector's powers in the comics. Of course, the background setting in some parts of the trailer hint that they will dive into Egyptian mythology while unraveling Spector's origins.
Dracula Owes Moon Knight Money
Moon Knight fans cannot get enough and posted even hilarious memes about the character. One of these happens to be Moon Knight's issues with Dracula, and Twitter , @Massive_Peace, perfectly executes it.
Of course, the meme does not reflect on the content from the comics. The in question does not reveal Moon Knight's beef with Dracula owing money, but the actual content is Moon Knight's recruitment with the Night Shift. Nevertheless, fans are having fun by bringing this meme up because it is hilarious.
Kid Cudi's "Day ‘N’ Night" Sums Up Moon Knight's Energy
While fans loved the gritty tone and dark persona of Moon Knight, other people remarked on the music background that made the trailer even more chilling. Twitter s like @spideylarusso noted the trailer played a remixed version of Kid Cudi's "Day 'N' Night."
Honestly, the lyrics perfectly lines with each moment in the trailer, so it is not surprising why fans love the editing and direction. Of course, fans are blasting the music while feeling super stoked for Moon Knight.
Oscar Isaac Collecting All The Franchises
Oscar Isaac is one of the most talented actors in the industry, so many people are excited to see him formally make his debut in the MCU. Funnily, some fans noticed that Isaac took part in several blockbuster franchises, such as Poe Dameron (Dune. Furthermore, this is not Isaac's first outing in a Marvel project.
Twitter @spoiler4you perfectly showcases Isaac's ventures into major franchises, echoing the vibes of Thano's collecting the Infinity stones. The hilarious meme shows that Isaac has accomplished a remarkable feat with these franchises. It just shows that Isaac has so much power and energy to appear in these incredible franchises, with Moon Knight added to his books.
Are We In The Correct Universe?
The trailer made several references to ancient Egypt by showing artifacts in the background. These Egyptian references have similarities with Isaac's previous Marvel character, Apocalypse, who also has genesis in Egypt. Twitter @9GAG noticed this and posted a hilarious confusion regarding Moon Knight and Apocalypse, who share backstories in Egypt.
Moon Knight is not Isaac's first outing into a Marvel project, and even more surprising is that this is not his second either. Isaac appeared in two separate Marvel universes as Marvel villain Apocalypse in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, these previous portrayals did not stop Isaac from playing Moon Knight, and his Marvel energy is robust.
March Is Incredibly Packed!
Moon Knight will be the first MCU content of 2022, releasing on March 30 on Disney+. Of course, there is no shortage of superhero content this year. Fans immediately noticed another equally dark and gritty superhero content set to release in March. That movie will be Matt Reeves' The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role.
Furthermore, the tone and energy of Moon Knight oddly resemble Batman. Of course, this increases more hype as fans await both highly anticipated projects. Even one Twitter , @the1film, created this well-edited video featuring Moon Knight and Batman and highlighted the characters' best moments seen from the trailers so far.
