I'm concerned by Leonard Moore, has over her. 1000-lb Sisters premiered in 2020, and originally focused on the weight loss journeys of Tammy and Amy Slaton. However, the show has expanded to include the weight loss and life journeys of Tammy and Amy's other siblings, Amanda, Misty Slaton Wentworth, and Chris Combs. Amanda is the middle sibling of the five, and she has a personality that is just as big, if not bigger, than her brother and sisters.
1000-lb Sisters season 7 is currently airing, and it's seen Amanda back from her "permanent" move to Florida. Amanda moved to Florida for the sunshine and man, but came back with her tail between her legs after that relationship didn't work out. Moreover, Amanda is living in Amy's house, with Amy and her two young boys. Amanda also moved several of her sons into Amy's house, which I've seen has been causing tension. Outside the show, I think Amanda is causing tension in other ways, specifically with how she's handling and existing in her relationship with Leonard.
Amanda Is The 1000-Lb Sisters Breakout Star
& She's Been Unlucky In Love
1000-lb Sisters' narrative has switched from focusing on Tammy and Amy to focusing on the entire dynamics of the family and their significant others. Amanda started appearing as a main character on the show in season 4, and she has been the breakout star ever since. She is known for her smart mouth, witty retorts, enjoyable accent, and spitfire personality. I believe she has the biggest personality of the bunch, and that's saying a lot. When Amanda is not at the center of drama with her siblings, she has drama on and off-screen with her love life.
Amanda & Leonard's Relationship Explained
They Are Mixing Business With Pleasure
Amanda was married to Jason Halterman, Amy's ex-husband Michael Halterman's brother, for 22 years. The couple had four boys together and split amicably in 2020. Amanda took a few years off of serious dating before she met a man named RJ, who was not featured on the show. However, Amanda made mention of him on-screen, and he's the big reason why she moved to Florida. But RJ allegedly ghosted Amanda, and thus she returned to Kentucky after saying she'd never come back.
In early 2025, Amanda introduced her now-boyfriend, Leonard, to her social media audience. But he isn't just her boyfriend, he is also "the Strategist for Amanda Halterman of 1000-lb Sisters.” I don't think it's a positive thing that Amanda and Leonard are blurring their romance with Amanda's fame and business thereafter.
With Leonard, who says he's Amanda's "Manager" on Instagram, having a large say in her social media content, I see a lot of room for issues between the pair and for Leonard to take advantage of Amanda's celebrity for himself.

I Think Leonard Has Too Much Control Over Amanda
Amanda Rarely Has Posts On Her Own Accord
I'm not the only one wary of Leonard's influence on Amanda, who recently shared a post with Leonard captioned, "So thankful for my life and the places we always find ourselves thank you for everything Leonard Moore." Other fans are not impressed by Leonard's motivational posts on Instagram and hovering presence in Amanda's life.
"Girl bye," was a popular response.
Amanda did yet another t post with Leonard. Leonard was spouting something I think he saw as motivational, but it missed the mark for me and others.
"What is it that you do… I mean all day? I mean besides “manage” Amanda. If you’re going to be a motivational speaker, you should show a little motivation, a comment read"
I don't see that Amanda speaks for herself anymore. Having t posts and Leonard's constant influence on what she posts and how she portrays herself and their relationship is not a good thing for Amanda. She has presented herself as a strong, independent woman, and I'm not getting those vibes now that she's with Leonard. Since Leonard hasn't been on 1000-lb Sisters yet because their relationship is so new, it's hard to know what their actual dynamic is, so a lot remains to be seen.
