In January, Tammy filmed a TikTok of herself answering a mean comment where someone told her to "Fix them teeth." In the clip, Tammy explains she can't afford to fix her teeth right now. She continued that these mean comments didn't help build her confidence. People in Tammy's comment sections often bring up her teeth in an unkind way, and Tammy finally decided to address the issue, head-on. Tammy explains that though she has enough money to pay her bills, she can't afford the massive expense of fixing her teeth right now.

When the third card flips over to read, "You are poor," Tammy nods and smiles knowingly.

The reality is that 1000-lb Sisters is, in part, a study in class in modern-day America.

They're a working-class family, living in rural Kentucky, which influences everything from their diets to their teeth. Though Tammy has long planned on eventually getting skin removal surgery, the massive expense of the procedure is likely to hold her back. Hopefully, Tammy will save enough money to remove her extra skin, so she can live her best life in the body she worked hard for.
