1000-lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton has lost a significant amount of weight since receiving bariatric surgery, but she got disappointing news about her desire to have skin removal surgery. When the beloved unscripted series premiered in 2020, Tammy stepped on an industrial scale and learned she weighed over 600 pounds. The number shocked her and concerned her family, but Tammy only seemed to get worse. She couldn't stay on her diet, she drank too much, and she avoided exercise like the plague. By the time season 3 rolled around, Tammy weighed a shocking 725 pounds, which was her heaviest.
Though Tammy seemed to have no intention of losing weight, a health scare landed her in the hospital and scared her into changing her life. After waking up from her week-long medically induced coma, Tammy focused on losing weight. She worked on treating her food addiction, had bariatric surgery, and went on to lose a stunning 500 pounds.
