The god-level strength in heroes like Hulk or Thor. But raw power is nothing compared to the absolute rarity of some heroes’ and villains’ skills.

Forget Spider-Man or the Vision. When it comes to unique powers that can only be found in the Marvel Universe, no one beats the following 13 people and their outlandish abilities.

13 Phone Ranger’s Communication System Access

Phone Ranger Marvel

It’s not uncommon for heroes in the Marvel Universe to gain powers after exposure to aliens. A.G. Bell discovered a race of aliens called the Seltas while on a phone repair job and used their technology to become a superhero. As Phone Ranger, Bell can interface with any form of communication technology, even alien ones. While his power might not come in handy much in a physical fight, it certainly stands out from the rest of the pack.

12 Hindsight’s Analytical ‘Powers’

Hindsight Marvel

Hindsight is an important concept, and for computer programmer Carlton Lafroyage, he can tell anyone exactly where things went wrong in any situation. As part of the New Warriors Hindsight provided his team with play-by-play analyses of events and suggestions for how things could be improved in the future. While Lafroyage served his team better as an information broker and computer expert, his insights were what the hero was most known for.

11 Eye-Scream Ice Cream Transformation

Comic book s: Eye Scream meting himself into ice cream.

Sure, everyone loves ice cream. But for one unfortunate mutant, it’s anything but enjoyable. Eye-Scream is a mutant that possesses the power to turn into any flavor of ice cream. While a novel idea for a power, it actually drove the villain mad and he attempted to infiltrate Charles Xavier’s school and harm the X-Men out of sheer jealousy for their abilities. Eye-Scream’s power definitely isn’t the most useful, but it least it’s original.

10 Maggott’s Sentient Digestive System

Mutant Maggott with one of his robotic maggots over his shoulder.

Maggott is super strong, but that’s not what makes him unique. It’s the sentient digestive system he possesses, composed of two worm-like creatures known as Eany and Meany. The worms go out of Maggott’s body and consume any kind of matter they can find. Once full, they return to Maggott’s body and use the energy to ply him with super strength and enhanced durability. Sure, it’s kind of gross, but it’s definitely an inspired power.

9 ForgetMeNot’s Existential Superpower

ForgetMeNot Marvel

No one likes being forgotten, but for the mutant Xabi, it’s a state of being. Also known as ForgetMeNot, Xabi’s ability prevents others from ever ing him unless he’s directly in front of someone. He even itted he’d been an X-Men member for several years, but due to the nature of his powers, no one can ever recall him. ForgetMeNot’s power isn’t just unique, it’s downright scary thinking what such a power would do to someone psychologically.

8 Flatman’s 2-D Form

Flatman Marvel

The Great Lakes Avengers might not be the most useful pack of heroes, but one of their has one of the most creative powers in the Marvel Universe. Flatman is a mutant whose body is nearly two-dimensional. While he can also grow and stretch his body to unbelievable lengths, Val Ventura’s incredibly flat nature makes him the team’s most identifiable member, and one of Marvel Universe’s most original superheroes.

7 Swarm’s Bee Hive Mind

Swarm Marvel

One unique power, and a very creepy one at that, belongs to the Spider-Man villain known as Swarm. Originally a Nazi scientist who attempted to take control of a hive of mutated bees, Fritz von Meyer was consumed by thousands of bees, only to have his consciousness absorbed into the colony. Not only does Swarm retain Meyer’s thoughts and form, but the buzzing villain can also take control of other bees, adding to his insidious drones.

6 Adam X’s Electrokinetic Haemopyrokinesis

Adam X Marvel

When it comes to unique powers, Adam X has one of the most specific. Adam has the ability to send electric surges through oxygenated blood, which causes his opponents to burn from the inside out. All Adam has to do is cut anyone he faces in a fight in order to introduce oxygen into their bloodstream, and he can make them suffer intensely thanks to his mutation. It’s a bit terrifying to think about, but it’s a very imaginative power.

5 Karnak's Flaw Perception

Karnak Marvel

Karnak isn’t like his fellow Inhumans in that he was never exposed to the Terrigen Mist. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an impressive power. Karnak can see “the flaw in all things”. With his amazing perception, Karnak can identify any weak point and level the mightiest buildings or take down the strongest foes in mere seconds. He might be one of the physically weaker Inhumans, but his power makes him one of the most dangerous in a fight.

4 Fluff’s Superpowered Lint

Fluff Marvel

Fluff’s power is definitely original, and it’s also pretty gross. Fluff was a member of X-Cellent, and he had the ability to generate as much belly button lint as he wanted. Not only could he make an endless supply of lint, he could also change its chemical composition, turning it into vapors and other kinds of elements. Fluff died before the true extent of his power could be seen, but he undoubtedly possessed one of Marvel’s most strange powers of all time.
