On before Michael could arrive in the U.S. on the spousal visa, Angela got weight loss surgery done to surprise him.
What Angela failed to consider was the fact that Michael loved her just the way she was. Michael and Angela fought many times in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 because she told him about her weight loss idea. He was in love with Angela’s full chest, which she minimized with a breast reduction operation that was a part of her full makeover. Michael started distancing himself from Angela as she healed, and eventually, Angela had to get breast implants to please her husband. Despite Angela's concerns about her health, as well as her stated desire to look younger for Michael, the Nigerian man wasn't so sure about all of the surgical procedures.
However, Angela didn’t let Michael get under her skin. In the end, she declared that she was going to live her best life and would deal with Michael once his visa was in place. If she had wanted Michael to only have eyes for her, and not fall for any American women his age after his move, Angela might have altered her plans. Fans watched her dance with mystery men to romantic songs on TikTok, and saw her flirting with her doctors on Instagram.
Angela’s Weight Loss Journey Commences
Back in October 2020, rumors of Angela’s weight loss story was made a part of her HEA storyline instead. In her first scene of episode 1, Angela was spending time with her grandkids, who revealed that Meemaw had become big because of her eating “lots lots of sweets.” Angela had supposedly gained almost 25 pounds during her last visit to Nigeria, when she married Michael.
Angela Flaunts 90 Pound Weight Loss
Angela revealed that Michael was not trying to understand that she wasn’t comfortable with “all this weight.” Her smoking habit was adding to Angela’s pre-surgery struggles. Dieting, fat-burning pills, and slimming teas had not helped Angela to lose the weight. She decided to get a gastric by surgery done so she could be around longer for her grandchildren and (of course) Michael. In March 2021, what Angela looked like after dropping 90 pounds.
Angela Tells Why She Really Lost Weight
“People need to know — I felt like I would have died without the weight-loss surgery,” Angela said in her Angela told 90 Day Fiancé fans. Apart from these three procedures, Angela was operated on for two hernias, so she ended up having five surgeries in a day in August 2020. She was under anesthesia for over six hours.
The first three months after Angela’s surgery were the hardest for her. However, in the end, Angela ended up going from a size 22 to a size 11. While she weighed 273 pounds at her heaviest, Angela dropped down to 190 pounds, as per her last weight loss update. Since then, fans have noticed how Angela has managed to keep her new trim figure, and has also been spotted getting treatments such as Botox on her face, fillers in her hands, and a new set of teeth to look great overall. For now, Angela is reportedly filming a new 90 Day Fiancé spin-off with Michael in Nigeria, and he may be coming to the U.S. soon. Angela’s weight loss adventure may be far from over, but for now, it appears that Angela is working on fixing her relationship with Michael so she doesn’t lose him.
