9-1-1 season 8, episode 15, titled "Lab Rats," when, for the first time, the series killed off a major character. Beloved 118 Station Captain Bobby Nash died after succumbing to a virus, leaving the team devastated. However, he also left a legacy that continues to inspire many of the crew, including Ravi.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Pishadory discussed how the loss of Bobby has impacted Ravi, and how his influence on Ravi is going to help shape his future in the team. He discusses how the life of a first responder comes with bad times, but that should not color the entire experience. Pisharody discussed how Ravi has taken inspiration from Bobby, and how the latter's death felt like a great loss to the team and the show. Check out Pishadory's comments below:

ScreenRant: Ravi hasn't spent as much time with Bobby, but he is obviously still very important to him. What do you think he learned from Bobby and will carry with him moving forward?

Anirudh Pisharody: That tough times are just momentary. I think what he's learned from Bobby is that you really can't let the bad things that happen in the nature of that job, you can't let that color the entirety of your experience. Ravi keeps going back to that.

He gets weighed down by people dying around him and things that he couldn't do. And I think Bobby Nash is emblematic that you can go through the worst situation in your life, the most unthinkable, most unimaginable tragedy, and still come out and be this light in so many people's lives and just constantly exude joy. That's definitely something that Ravi has taken from him.

Even as a character, he did that for so many people.

Anirudh Pisharody: As a character and as a person. I'm sure you read Pete's last letter to everybody. It was so emotional and beautiful. I think that's what makes it so impactful. His character is really him, and so when you have the Nash turnout on the back of the firetruck and everything, it's almost like Pete is dying.

Even though he's not—he's perfectly healthy, he's happy, he's fine and everything. You feel like you're losing a limb. It's like you're losing a part of yourself and yeah, it's been rough. You're going to feel it, and we definitely felt it just in the past two episodes where he wasn't there. Something is off. There's something missing here, and it's obvious what it is. It'll never be that way again.

What This Means For Ravi's 9-1-1 Future

Hopefully He Will Take The Positives Bobby Brought To The Team

Bobby's controversial 9-1-1 death has had a big impact on many of the characters in the show, not the least on Ravi himself. As Pishadory's comments reveal, the younger firefighter is set to the positives Bobby brought to the team and focus on trying to be a light for many people in dark times. It is also clear how much Bobby is going to be missed within the context of the show, and 9-1-1 will need to reinvent itself in order to move on effectively from the fan-favorite character.

Interestingly, Ravi, who was almost on the verge of quitting just before Bobby's death, will hopefully be inspired to be the best possible firefighter he can be in 9-1-1 season 9, and beyond.

Ravi will not be alone, however, with his friend and colleague Buck, who saw Bobby as something of a mentor, also set to be negatively impacted by the 118 leader's ing. The two men will have a chance to take comfort in one another, find a way to be positive, and move on in their personal and professional lives more effectively. Interestingly, Ravi, who was almost on the verge of quitting just before Bobby's death, will hopefully be inspired to be the best possible firefighter he can be in 9-1-1 season 9, and beyond.

Our Take On Bobby's Impact On Ravi

Ravi Will Look To Adopt A More Positive Approach To His Career

Ravi in 9-1-1 season 8, episode 14, Sick Day, at a distance

As a character who has felt a little lost this season and has let the gravity of the job weigh him down, Bobby's death actually looks set to have a surprisingly positive impact on Ravi. Instead of letting things get too far on top of him, it seems like he's going to the positive impact Bobby had on so many people and try to replicate this as a member of the 118. Future seasons of 9-1-1 will need to lean heavily on its ing cast to move past Bobby, and characters like Ravi will be a core part of this.
