Sadly, Peter Krause's time on 9-1-1 season 8, episode 10). However, Bobby's demise marks a first for 9-1-1.

ABC releases new episodes of 9-1-1 season 8 on Thursdays at 8 pm ET, followed by Doctor Odyssey season 1 at 9 pm ET and Grey's Anatomy season 21 at 10 pm ET.

9-1-1 season 8, episode 15 begins with Bobby, Chimney, Hen, and Ravi trapped inside a lab. Chimney gets exposed to a genetically engineered variant of the CCHF virus and needs a cure. Athena secures the antidote and brings it to the lab, where Bobby isters it to Chimney. He survives, and everyone breathes a sigh of relief until they realize Bobby was infected, too. He hid his symptoms to ensure the focus would be on saving Chimney. Since they used the one cure on Chimney, Bobby dies after saying a heartbreaking goodbye to Athena at the end of episode 15.

Chimney & Maddie Will Likely Name Their Son After Bobby In 9-1-1 Season 8

The Couple Will Want To Honor Their Fallen Captain

Many fans are upset by Bobby's death in 9-1-1 season 8, but the (semi) good news is that his legacy will likely live on via Chimney and Maddie's son. The couple has yet to pick a name for their unborn baby. So, after Bobby's tragic death, it would only make sense if Chimney and Maddie named their son after their friend, especially since this happens all the time in TV shows.

Bobby sacrificed his life to save Chimney in 9-1-1 season 8, episode 15. He guaranteed that the one cure would be used on Chimney instead of himself by hiding his symptoms. As a result, Chimney and Maddie naming their second child after the deceased 9-1-1 main character wouldn't be surprising. In the aftermath of Bobby's devastating death, Station 118 will undoubtedly be doing everything in its power to honor their fallen captain, and one of the best ways to do so would be to carry on his name and legacy.

How Else Bobby's Legacy Will Live On In 9-1-1

9-1-1 Must Honor Bobby In Any Way It Can

Bobby in 9-1-1 season 8, episode 15, Lab Rats

As proven by the public 9-1-1 season 8, the TV series must do everything in its power to honor him going forward. Aside from Chimney and Maddie naming their son after him, his memory must live on. The ABC procedural drama can't just show the characters grieving Bobby for one episode and then move on with their lives. They should be able to live their lives to the fullest, of course, since that's what Bobby would have wanted. However, Peter Krause's 9-1-1 character cannot soon be forgotten, or at all, for the remainder of the show.
