A Minecraft Movie was one of the biggest movies of 2025, and one of the major reasons for that was the sheer number of quotable lines and memorable scenes that were scattered throughout the film. While A Minecraft Movie's reviews weren't particularly great, the film clearly managed to find a huge audience, earning over $900 million so far over the course of its theatrical run, thanks in large part to how well it was able to sell itself to audiences after the movie had already been released.
While most of Black's A Minecraft Movie performance is why a number of these quotes are so memorable. However, more characters get their time to shine over the course of the movie, resulting in many, many great lines.
10 "The Orb Of Dominance: The Most Powerful Cube-Shaped Orb In Existence."
Steve
The Orb of Dominance was the big MacGuffin of the movie, introduced as an object of immense power that was able to give Malgosha (Rachel House) control over the Overworld when she invaded with her piglin armies during A Minecraft Movie's ending. This quote occurred in the beginning stages of the movie, and was a fun reference to the blocky nature of Minecraft, which is integral to the feeling of the world. While Steve, as well as the audience, would call it a cube, the denizens of the Minecraft world see it as an orb, despite having the same shape as everything else.
9 "No... That's A Legend."
Steve
This quote came when the humans first arrived in the village, and Henry (Sebastian Hansen) saw a pig wearing a crown in front of them. He asked if it was a king, to which Steve replied with the above quote. While this line isn't particularly interesting in and of itself, it has a deeper meaning which makes it one of the most heartfelt moments in the entire movie.
The Technoblade reference was actually suggested by Henry's actor, Sebastian Hansen, during production of A Minecraft Movie.
The pig was actually a reference to Technoblade, a popular Minecraft YouTuber and streamer who, unfortunately, ed away in 2022 after a battle with metastatic sarcoma. His logo was an image of a Minecraft pig with a crown on its head, so the moment in the film was a clear reference to him. His ing was an extremely tragic event in the Minecraft community, with condolences coming in from everywhere across the internet, and the memorialization to him in this huge movie was great to see.
8 "Two Loose Cannons, Wearing Turquoise Blouses."
Bruce
While Jemaine Clement had a very short appearance in A Minecraft Movie, his role was nonetheless very entertaining, as the actor brought a lot of hilarity to his few scenes. This line came about as Garrett (Jason Momoa) was trying to convince Clement's Daryl to give him Steve's storage compartment, which he thought contained a 1978 Atari Cosmos, saying that he would consider hanging out with him. Daryl's imagination then ran wild with anticipation, and this line came about as he thought about the two of them wearing Steve's shirts.
Clement's portrayal of this mega-fanboy was done very well, with this line in particular being a very funny example of the way he thought about himself and Garrett. It was also just a funny way to refer to Steve's clothes, as most people would simply call them "shirts" or "sweaters," but giving them the title of "turquoise, unisex blouses," combined with Clement's hilarious and weird accent, made this moment sing.
7 "I Am Ordering You To Make A Full Man Sandwich!"
Garrett Garrison
This moment occurred when Garrett, Steve, and Henry were flying with their elytras to escape the piglin attack on the village, and Garrett and Steve were forced to share a single pair of wings in order to escape. When they had to squeeze through a tiny hole, Garrett yelled this at Steve, and each man locked their arms around the others' legs, and they made it through. This line speaks for itself, it's just a funny way to refer to this, and the fact that both of them knew exactly what it meant made it work.
6 "Are You Finished?" "No, I Think He's Swedish, But We're Done With Our Meal."
Vice Principal Marlene
This line came during Marlene's dinner date with Minecraft's Nitwit villager (Matt Berry), and was a prime example of why Jennifer Coolidge's character was one of the funniest parts of the movie, despite being relegated entirely to a side story. This joke in particular wasn't anything new, as the similarity between the words "Finnish" and "finished" has been noted in plenty of different movies over the years. However, Coolidge performed the line with complete sincerity, and, combined with the absurdity of the entire date situation, it worked in the context of A Minecraft Movie.
5 "Flint And Steel!"
Steve
This line was just one of many instances of Jack Black's Steve yelling out the name of an item from the Minecraft video game, but this one has become one of the most iconic, and for good reason. He exclaimed this when he was opening up the Nether portal, and his seemingly genuine excitement at the idea of banging together a piece of iron and flint was the reason this moment worked.
Black was able to elevate these three simple words into an iconic line from a massive blockbuster.
Black has always been an electric performer, able to uplift whatever he is given in order to make every moment as funny as possible. Something as simple as saying the name of a Minecraft item could potentially come off as boring, pandering, and lazy, but Black was able to elevate these three simple words into an iconic line from a massive blockbuster. There are plenty of similar lines in the movie, and one more that will certainly come up later.
4 "When Marlene's Jeep Grand Cherokee Ran Me Over, I Was Struck By A Love So Powerful, It Transcended The Barriers Of Conventional Speech."
Nitwit
The Nitwit and Vice Principal Marlene's love story was easily the funniest subplot in A Minecraft Movie, and this line and the way it paid off multiple different aspects of the movie was a big reason why. Hearing the Nitwit speak for the first time was going to be funny regardless, but having the character be voiced by Matt Berry of all people made the moment one of the most hilarious reveals in the entire movie.

Steve's Diamond Armor In A Minecraft Movie Explained: How Strong It Is & Video Game Comparison
Steve's diamond armor during the later moments of A Minecraft Movie was a great little reference, and this is how it compares to the video game.
While this may seem like just a fun cameo, Berry's role is actually a reference to a piece of A Minecraft Movie's production history. According to reports, he was actually cast as Steve while the movie was early on in development, but unfortunately had to drop out due to production delays and scheduling conflicts with some of his other projects. His monologue during A Minecraft Movie's post-credits scene showed how great he would've been in the role, but thankfully, Black was able to fill the role extremely well.
3 "Everyone Wants To Sue Me Once I Hit Them With My Jeep Grand Cherokee."
Vice Principal Marlene
This moment was Marlene's first meeting with the Nitwit, and was a signal that Coolidge was going to be one of the best parts of A Minecraft Movie. This line was absurd, and a great way for these two characters to meet in a way that could lead further into their subplot. The idea that Vice Principal Marlene made a habit out of hitting people with her car, and the fact that she took the time to say the full "Jeep Grand Cherokee" name of the vehicle meant that this was one of the biggest laughs of the film.
2 "We Are Not In Idaho Anymore, I Think This Is Wyoming."
Garrett Garrison
This was one of Garrett's first lines when the humans arrived in the Overworld, and was a great introduction to what his character was going to be like for the rest of the movie. While he always tried to look cool, smart, and put-together, he never really knew what was going on at any point, and the idea that he believed the Overworld was anywhere on Earth was both hilarious and very in-character, while also pointing to the fact that he had probably never left his hometown and was very stuck in place.
1 "Chicken Jockey!"
Steve
A Minecraft Movie had plenty of iconic moments, references to the game, and funny lines, but the biggest success of the movie was this single, simple line that epitomized all three. Similarly to "flint and steel," this line was fairly innocuous in and of itself, but it became this huge viral sensation due to Black's delivery, as well as the fact that it was a slightly deeper video game reference. It even sparked special screenings after viewers became too rowdy. "Chicken Jockey" is something that will remain in the cultural lexicon for some time, and is arguably the biggest success to come out of A Minecraft Movie.
