Andre’s appearance could spell trouble for the Abbott crew based on the implications of his character. He may train to be Mr. Johnson’s replacement is a one-off storyline meant to be comedic. However, there’s also a chance that Cedric is the first of many attacks the school district might have on Abbott Elementary. The school hasn’t had the best relationship with the school after Janine quit her district position and Ava (Janelle James) lost her blackmail leverage. If the district is trying to replace more than Mr. Johnson, Cedric could be a harbinger of doom for Abbott Elementary.

Mr. Johnson has been a defining aspect of Abbott Elementary’s identity since season 1. His enigmatic personality and penchant for saying outlandish things instantly made him one of the most unique parts of the show. However, aside from Mr. Johnson’s hilarious quotes in Abbott Elementary, he is incredibly gifted at his job and is secretly keeping the place running. Mr. Johnson was still a comedic powerhouse while showing Cedric around, but he also subtly showed off some of the many things he does around the school.

Mr. Johnson may be one of Abbott Elementary’s funniest characters, but Cedric proved he’s also unexpectedly wholesome.
