The news was broken by Always Sunny star Rob McElhenny who shared several posts on X (formerly Twitter) showing the two casts posing together. Nothing is currently known about the crossover, but it is the most ambitious move in the show's run thus far.

After Abbott Elementary snagged an early renewal just days after the season 3 premiere, there was no doubt that Janine and her fellow teachers would return later in 2024. Now, ABC has announced the bulk of their fall 2024-2025 season, and Abbott Elementary is resuming its place as the network's primetime comedy. Abbott Elementary season 4 is set to debut on Wednesday, October 9, at 9:30pm.

Episodes will air live at 9:30pm on ABC and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
