DC Comics' Absolute the new incarnation of Bane is among the characters he is most excited to inject into the updated canon.

On X, author Snyder acknowleded the appearance of Absolute Bane, after a fan asked if there were any character re-introductions that he could reveal in advance of DC's official solicitations.

With a one-word answer befitting the dangerous "Man Who Broke the Bat," Snyder set DC Comics fandom abuzz with speculation about when the villain will officially show up, and how radically different this new Bane will be. Given the nature of Absolute DC, the answers to those questions could be legitimately shocking when they came.

Absolute Bane Is Coming For Batman, As Confirmed By Author Scott Snyder

And Fans Suspect He'll Be Stronger Than Ever

The major thing about the Absolute Universe is the fact it was created due to Darkseid's death. This means that the universe is teeming with evil energy, as it was a universe created in Darkseid's image. This has resulted in all heroic characters starting out in a much worse position than they would have been normally. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman are all at a massive disadvantage. Wonder Woman started out in Hell without the of the Amazons and Batman grew up in a low-income family without the vast wealth he usually has.

Who do you think would win in a fight, Spider-Man or Bane?

Seemingly out of nowhere, I saw a debate raging online about the possibility of Spider-Man cleaning up Gotham, only to be stopped when it comes to fighting Bane, as many fans think the iconic Batman villain would take out the webslinger. I'm, however, on the other side of the argument about their potential fight, as I think Spider-Man's agility combined with the fact he pulls his punches means that, if he unleashed himself completely, he could certainly take out Bane.

This begs the question of just warlord who broke Batman's back with ease. That's what Bane did in a universe where he was at a disadvantage, so what he will become when he's on the winning side is a massive open question, which is perhaps the most terrifying aspect of his character.

Bane Has Always Been Batman's Most Dangerous Physical Threat

Bruce Has More To Lose Than Ever Before

The most concerning thing about the Absolute version of Bane is that this version of Batman has so much more to lose. In the Prime Universe, Bane was able to quickly deduce Batman's identity, despite him having literal billion-dollar value security. Bane even killed Alfred Pennyworth at one point. In the Absolute Universe, Batman's mother is still alive, which would definitely be a target for someone as ruthless as Bane. It's also very likely that Bane will quickly figure out the identity of Batman once again.

Bane is going to be Absolute Batman's biggest challenge.

In the Prime Universe, Bane was the first villain to ever break Batman. Using his enhanced strength and brilliant tactical mind, he was able to sneak into the Batcave and attack Batman at his weakest. This resulted in Batman being defeated, leaving him helpless and forcing him to the Batman mantle onto someone else. The problem with that is, there is no one else to take up Batman's mantle in this universe. While it's still a ways off, Bane is going to be Absolute Batman's biggest challenge.
