With many of DC’s Absolute titles in full swing, starring iconic characters such as Justice League. Now we have confirmation that this union is indeed coming, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath given the timeline teased by Scott Snyder.
The Comic Book Couples Counseling podcast recently sat down with writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta to talk about all things Absolute Batman, with the conversation also briefly touching on the overall plans for the Absolute Universe.
Among the topics discussed was the potential crossover of Absolute books and characters, where Snyder confirmed, "Yes! We're excited to have the books cross this year." To clarify, this quote seems to refer specifically to the titles and the events within them, rather than the characters themselves. Other comments by Snyder have revealed that the actual crossover of Absolute characters across their respective titles won’t begin until Spring 2026.

While confirming that fans will see character crossovers in the Absolute Universe come Spring 2026, Snyder elaborated that while he is 100% sure Wonder Woman and Batman will meet, he’s not yet certain about Superman. Right now, the Absolute Man of Steel crossing paths with the Dark Knight and the Princess of the Underworld remains an open possibility, but it’s clear that Snyder and Jason Aaron, who is the lead on Absolute Superman, haven’t set anything in stone. While it may be a little disappointing that a full-on Trinity union might not happen, the fact that Diana and Bruce will cross paths is more than exciting.

Although fans now have Spring 2026 in mind for character overlap across the Absolute titles, this is clearly just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to characters interacting with each other, especially since Superman isn’t even confirmed to be part of these crossovers. That means the debut, or even the idea, of an Absolute Justice League is still a long way off if we won’t even see Wonder Woman and Batman interact for another year. Still, all good things come in time, and it is better to wait than for the Absolute title creatives to rush their plans just to deliver an early Justice League.

The debut of the Absolute Justice League may still be a long way off, potentially even several years, but to make up for the wait, Absolute Batman fans can look forward to the arrival of three major characters: Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow. Snyder has teased their debuts before and recently reaffirmed that he has big plans for all three in the future of Absolute Batman. Thanks to a leak from Absolute Batman #9, fans already know they’ll be getting their first look at Absolute Deathstroke. So while the Justice League may still be in the distance, there are plenty of exciting developments just around the corner.
