Patch 1.2.0.1 is now live for game crashes in the Ravensthorpe settlement - Eivor's base of operations where in-game events such as festivals are hosted.

Upon learning of the glitch's prevalence, the Ubisoft development crew behind AC Valhalla had no choice but to effectively place the Ostara Festival hiatus. The team quickly unleashed a server-side hotfix to disable the seasonal content, a move that stripped away the settlement's festive decorations and deactivated event-specific quests. AC Valhalla's latest update should tackle all of the above.

As previously promised, developer Ubisoft Montréal deployed restoring the Ostara Festival's settlement decorations and event quests. At the time of writing, the studio has not announced whether it plans to extend the seasonal in-game event past its currently scheduled April 8 end date.

The misfortune surrounding the Ostara Festival's first week serves as just another mishap in a long line of others that have cropped up since the open-world title's release late last fall. While the Yule Festival in December didn't subject players to similar game-breaking glitches, many players viewed it as little more than a disappointment. Two months went by before Ubisoft deployed the next major update, February's River Raids content that itself got lambasted as yet another disappointment.

Hopefully, Ubisoft is able to begin ironing out AC Valhalla's myriad wrinkles before the paid DLC expansions begin rolling out next month. Wrath of the Druids counts as the first of two narrative-driven DLC releases. Launching on April 29, Wrath of the Druids will see players venture to Ireland where Eivor must uncover the mysteries behind an ancient druid cult. Meanwhile, the second expansion - The Siege of Paris - is on track for a summer release. This DLC will revolve around Eivor's journey to further secure the Raven clan's prosperity. Players can expect to lay siege to the titular Frankian city in what's been described as one of the "most ambitious battles in Viking history."
