The Sigrblot Festival arrives in The Siege of Paris.
Slated to release across all platforms on Thursday, August 12, The Siege of Paris DLC will see Eivor and company travel to war-torn Frankia and take part in a prolonged siege in the fortified city of Paris. AC Valhalla's new expansion will arrive in the midst of another seasonal festival, an in-game live event not too dissimilar to those that came before it. The first of such festivals, Yule, went live in mid-December 2020; the Ostara Festival followed a few months thereafter in mid-March, allowing players to explore an Easter-themed Ravensthorpe settlement complete with egg hunts and seasonal decorations. In the days ahead, Ubisoft will introduce a third seasonal event, one set to introduce a much-coveted weapon type.
Starting July 29, AC Valhalla players can jump into a free update that ushers in the Sigrblot Season, a limited-time, summer-inspired festival filled with new activities, rewards, and quests. s will also gain access to 50 free Opals, which act as the currency for items on sale in Reda's shop. Better yet, those who participate in the Sigrblot Season's Test Your Metal activity will get to exchange festival tokens at Norvid's shop for the community-requested one-handed sword. Test Your Metal will task players with ing their Jomsviking in friendly combat tournaments, according to a post on the Fight or Flyte.
Some fans are bound to feel wary about the advent of the new festival. As many may recall, the Ostara in-game event incidentally brought with it game-breaking bugs that forced Ubisoft Montréal to close out the festival for a few days. Hopefully, the Sigrblot update won't similarly plague the experience with issues.
This level of post-launch will continue for quite some time, even after The Siege of Paris goes live in August. For instance, Ubisoft recently unveiled Discovery Tour Viking Age. And a supposedly "ambitious" second year of content is in the works, though the specifics have yet to reach the public.
