San Diego Comic-Con 2022 attendees got to see the first look at James Gunn’s Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, and his design is simple but perfect. The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues exploring its cosmic side with new characters and adventures, but the ones that are still leading this side of this connected universe are the Guardians of the Galaxy, who are coming back with their third adventure after a couple of obstacles during production.

Simply titled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the story is set after the events of the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), said to be the main antagonist and through which Rocket Raccoon’s origins could be explained, and Adam Warlock.

Warlock’s arrival to the MCU was teased in one of the many post-credits scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) revealed she had created a being powerful enough to get rid of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and right there she decided to call him “Adam”. Now, during Marvel’s Hall H at SDCC 2022, Kevin Feige dropped the first looks at some of the MCU’s movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and the first official look at Adam Warlock reveals his simple yet brilliant design, very different from Ayesha’s bright and over-the-top look.

Guardians 3 Trailer Confirms Will Poulter's Adam Warlock Casting Was The Right Choice

Will Poulter Adam Warlock Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer shown at SDCC 2022 made some interesting reveals about the movie, such as MCU has been leaning more towards comic book accurate costumes for its characters throughout Phase 4, and Adam Warlock seems to be following this trend, thus putting fans’ doubts to rest.

Adam Warlock’s look being comic book accurate also ends any doubts about Will Poulter’s casting as he very much looks like the character, and even if his full costume and characterization have some differences from its comic book version, Poulter will surely have no problem selling the part to the audience. It’s unknown when Marvel will release a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer for the whole world to see, but until then, fans can rest assured that Adam Warlock has a simple but comic book accurate design.
