Despite skipping the battle against Thanos in the MCU, Adam Warlock can still develop very important storylines, such as introducing the MCU's Silver Surfer. After being teased in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Warlock is one of Marvel's most recognizable characters, and as such has been highly anticipated in the MCU for several years, but the fact that Warlock missed out of the Infinity Saga means that many of his key comic storylines have already been adapted by Marvel Studios.
During many of his Marvel Comics storylines, Adam Warlock has had a connection to the Mad Titan, Thanos, as Avengers: Endgame saw the Avengers get their revenge, Marvel Studios will have to alter key elements of Warlock's character for the MCU. Warlock will certainly be a major character going forward, and he can prove this by bringing one of the most anticipated Marvel characters to the MCU.
Adam & Silver Surfer Will Make Up For Missing Thanos
Thanos' MCU storyline played out well without the inclusion of Adam Warlock, but it was still a shame to see such a key player in the comics miss out on the remarkable ending to the Infinity Saga. Even so, Warlock is set to become a very important cog in the Marvel Studios machine after his introduction in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Adam Warlock's MCU future can help to bring about the debut of one other major Marvel character, as one storyline finds Warlock living peacefully inside the Soul Stone, only to come across the Silver Surfer, who had been trapped inside with Drax the Destroyer by Thanos.
Many Marvel fans have been waiting patiently for the introduction of the Silver Surfer into the MCU proper, after previously appearing in the universally panned MCU's next big villain after Kang the Conqueror. If Adam Warlock is the character to finally bring the Silver Surfer, and by extension Galactus, into the MCU, this would certainly make up for him missing major storylines during the Infinity Saga.
How Adam Warlock Connects To Marvel's Silver Surfer
Adam Warlock and the Silver Surfer cross paths multiple times in Marvel Comics, leading to the pair not only allying with each other but also battling each other several times over the years. Although the Silver Surfer is imbued with the Power Cosmic, Warlock is often shown to be a formidable match for him, even managing to commandeer the Surfer's board at one point. Though their initial plan to seize the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos fails, Warlock and the Silver Surfer shared their souls during this storyline, which is what allowed Warlock to control the Silver Surfer's board.
The fact that Adam Warlock and the Silver Surfer share a piece of each other's soul in the comics means that they could also be connected when they debut in the MCU. This would create the perfect opportunity for Warlock to bring the Silver Surfer into the live-action franchise after his debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The pair have also been known to team up in order to take down a variety of enemies, and also to save their fellow heroes, such as when they employed the help of Doctor Strange in an effort to aid Thor.
Adam Warlock Can Set Up The MCU Fantastic Four
By introducing the Silver Surfer to the MCU, Adam Warlock can also set the stage for the cosmic entity, Galactus, to debut in the franchise. This could also be the best way to bring the MCU's official Fantastic Four team into the fray, as Galactus is a regular adversary to Marvel's First Family. In their first meeting with the planet-eater, The Fantastic Four manage to ward off Galactus' attack on Earth, with the help of the rebellious Silver Surfer. This storyline had previously been adapted by Fox for 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer, but many criticized the representation of Galactus, so the MCU can certainly do better.
Krasinski returns as Reed Richards is yet to be seen, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could plant the seeds for the 616-universe's Fantastic Four thanks to Adam Warlock's connection to the Silver Surfer, and the Surfer's connection to The Fantastic Four. Adam Warlock will certainly have a very bright future after Phase 5, which could see him become one of the most important characters in the MCU.
