Some Agatha All Along's cast knew.
Speaking with ScreenRant's Owen Danoff, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained that most of the MCU show's cast knew about the Witches' Road being fake. According to Schaeffer, it was especially important that Hahn knew, as Agatha being aware that the show's main setting was fake was key to the witch's backstory, as the show's finale explained. Agatha was lying about it the whole time, so Hahn had to know about the plot twist to tap into that. Schaeffer also commented on how Agatha telling Billy in episode 2 that the road was not real is one of her only moments of telling the truth. Check out the full quote below:
"No, the actors needed to know in order to do their jobs. Especially Kathryn, because she's lying the whole time. She and I had to work really closely on, like, “When is she lying?” Very early on in episode two she says to Billy, “The road isn't real.” It's one of the only times she's telling the truth, and so it was really important that [Kathryn] know every single minute detail of the reveal.
I think who actually was surprised by all of it is the Kaplans–the actors who played Billy's parents. They didn't know anything. I'm getting texts from Maria [Dizzia] being like, 'Oh my God, this is the whole show!' That was really fun–for them to be really shocked."
What Jac Schaeffer's Agatha All Along Comments Mean For The Show's Big Twist
The MCU Series Makes For A Great Rewatch
Schaeffer's comment about Hahn needing to know that the Witches' Road was fake to properly bring Agatha to life makes sense. The MCU series would reveal in its finale that the road was nothing but a lie that Agatha had created to make it easy for her to take other witches' powers for her. Being the one to create the lie, it was imperial that Agatha's reactions to the road all contained that extra layer to them, as she knew for a fact that it had to be a spell.

Will Agatha All Along Season 2 Happen? Everything We Know
Questions surrounding whether Agatha All Along will get a season 2 have emerged since well before the Marvel Cinematic Universe show's release.
The Agatha All Along showrunner's comments make it even more impressive that the MCU series' big twist did not leak beforehand. With only a couple of actors unaware that the Witches' Road was fake, it is surprising that none of the others revealed the plot twist, especially since Lilia Calderu actress Patti LuPone made public quite a few reveals the show had tried to keep a secret. With the knowledge that Hahn was aware the whole time that the Witches' Road was fake, an Agatha All Along rewatch gains new value, as fans can notice new elements in her performance.
Our Take On Jac Schaeffer's Agatha All Along Comments
Kathryn Hahn Had To Know It All
I think Schaeffer was right to tell the show's core cast that the Witches' Road was fake, especially in Hahn's case. Agatha Harkness being the creator of the myth surrounding the Witches' Road is deeply important to her as a character and for how the coven's dynamic plays out in the show. With Hahn knowing all about the MCU series' biggest twist, she could make sure that the times when Agatha was telling the truth, which were few and far between, would have a different tone to them when compared to the rest, making Agatha All Along more nuanced.
