American Horror Story: Apocalypse was, without a doubt, the show's most ambitious season. It was AHS's own endgame event, bringing back beloved characters from previous seasons and setting a final fight against the franchise's most dangerous antagonist.

It was during Apocalypse that fans revisited the Murder House for the first time in years. Characters from both seasons collided, albeit briefly, leaving fans longing for more. If these two franchises did a proper crossover, many of their characters would become close friends, or, at least, tentative allies. Others, however, would be at each other's throats, proving that nothing good can come out of putting ghosts and witches together.

Wouldn't Work: Chad & Mr. Gallant

Evan Peters is a recurring member in AHS and could have chemistry with nearly any actor. However, his character in Apocalypse, Mr. Gallant, isn't very approachable. Chad, who fans from season 1, may seem like a good person at first sight, but he's pretty questionable.

There would always be a conflict of interests between Chad and Mr. Gallant, and they could never form any meaningful bond. In other words, they wouldn't know how to act like real friends because their interests would always get in the way. Perhaps they could spend some pleasant times together, but their friendship would never flourish into something significant.

Would Work: Behold & Billie Dean

Behold Chablis and Billie Dean Howard share some scenes during Apocalypse. They share pleasantries but don't spend enough time together to develop a proper relationship.

However, they have enough similarities and common interests to form a bond. They are very in touch with the supernatural world and enjoy their involvement in it. As a warlock, Behold would be able to teach Billie Dean more things than she could ever dream of, and she could put him in with fascinating yet dead warlocks. Together, they would make a pretty great team, and, hopefully, fans will see them together again.

Wouldn't Work: Hayden & Coco

Hayden is one of AHS's most despised characters. Her obsession with Ben nearly destroyed his family, and she receives her punishment by being forever confined to the house's grounds but denied entrance. For her part, Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt's real personality is that of a gifted witch with the ability to sense danger.

These two would never work as friends or even acquaintances. Coco would immediately realize that Hayden's trouble and would put some distance between them. That's the best thing to do, as Hayden is one of the franchise's worst characters.

Would Work: Mallory & Vivien

Poor Vivien Harmon just wanted a fresh start to get her family back together. Instead, she became the unwilling vessel to bring the Antichrist into the world. Vivien is one of the franchise's most tragic victims, even if she does get a somewhat happy ending in the afterlife.

Mallory is a very empathetic and kind witch who would be a ive friend to Vivien. The two have gone through a lot in their lives and would find common ground with ease. Vivien could also act as a mentor to Mallory, and the two could learn a lot from each other.

Wouldn't Work: Tate & Ariel

In many ways, Tate is just looking for a parental figure, someone who can give him the attention he needs. Constance is a terrible mother, and his father was even worse, so Tate grew up without any role model, which explains his fascination with Ben and the Harmon family.

Ariel might seem like the ideal mentor on paper, but the reality is that he's just as bad as Constance and Hugo. Ariel is selfish, manipulative, and power-hungry. He doesn't care about anyone—not even his fellow warlocks. All he wants is to prove warlock's superiority over witches, and he would use and discard Tate if it suited his plans.

Would Work: Violet & Zoe

Taissa Farmiga was AHS's very first ingenue. Her role as Violet Harmon was a highlight of season one, and, although Coven's Zoe was less memorable, it was still pleasant enough.

Both characters share many traits in common, mainly their naivete and inexperience. However, Zoe becomes wiser with the years, as evidenced by her appearance in Apocalypse. She could be an older sister to the forever amateurish Violet, whose entrapment in the Murder House prevents her from experiencing anything.

Wouldn't Work: Wilhemina & Larry

Wilhemina Venable and Larry Harvey could maybe form a feeble alliance if it served their selfish means. All she wants is power and respect, and all he cares about is getting Constance back. They are both less cunning than they like to think, so finding and using each other would probably seem like a brilliant plan.

Nonetheless, they are two small fish in a very vast pond, playing with forces that neither fully understands. Their arrangement would also end when they inevitably betrayed each other. Sarah Paulson is arguably American Horror Story's best performer, and putting her opposite Dennis O'Hare would be a gift to fans everywhere, even if the characters' friendship wouldn't work.

Would Work: Cordelia & Moira

Split image showing Cordelia in AHS: Apocalypse and Moira in AHS: Murder House

Cordelia is one of AHS's most sympathetic characters. What makes her such a great Supreme is her concern for others. She isn't enamored with her power, nor is she unwilling to give it up. She's kind and always ready to help those who need her. Her instincts would instantly draw her towards the long-suffering Moira.

Cordelia would probably help Moira get her much-deserved eternal rest, no questions asked, so their friendship wouldn't last very long. However, they would share some meaningful and tender moments, and Moira would surely earn a place in Cordelia's heart.

Wouldn't Work: Michael & Everyone

Michael Landon standing in front of a fire place in American Horror Story Apocalypse

Michael Langdon is the literal Antichrist. Of course, he wouldn't be friends with anyone. His goal is to destroy the Earth and everything that comes with it, which he sort of achieves through a nuclear holocaust.

Even though he does exhibit some degree of care for certain beings, mainly Miriam Mead, Michael's evil ways will always get the best of him. Because of his very nature, he is incapable of loving anything or anyone. Michael sees people as tools to use and discard, and he would never allow himself to get close to any of them.

Would Work: Constance & Madison

Split image showing Constance in AHS: Murder House and Madison in AHS: Apocalypse

Constance and Madison may not seem like "friendship" material. They are two of the vilest characters in the franchise and have proven, time and again, that they only care about themselves. However, they have plenty of things in common, and they could perhaps form a shaky bond.

It might not be friendship, per se, but it would be the next best thing. Constance and Madison aren't used to getting close to others, but they could maybe learn together. They would be an explosive combination that would cause plenty of trouble. Jessica Lange needs to return to American Horror Story, and fans would love to see her share more scenes with Emma Roberts. What better way to do it than with a Constance/Madison pairing?
