Ahsoka’s selflessness in making sure Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger keep pushing to catch Thrawn’s ship was on full display, and that was why Ezra was able to return to the main Star Wars galaxy after nearly ten years. After failing to catch Thrawn’s ship, Ahsoka took her loss with grace, and audiences got the feeling that she and Sabine hadn’t actually lost, and it was just part of their journey. The duel between Maul and Ahsoka is made even better because the original actor to portray Maul, Ray Park, returned to provide the motion capture the animators used to develop the animation. This gave the duel a more realistic feel, as the movements were created using real people and weren’t generated solely from animation. All of this paired with Ahsoka’s hesitation about ing Maul to take down the still-mysterious Darth Sidious shows Ahsoka had truly grown from the fresh-faced Padawan audiences had met so long ago.

Not only is “Shattered” action-packed, with Ahsoka fleeing the initial assault from the clones, but it’s filled with emotional moments.
