Per Wccftech, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that The Lake House, the next piece of Alan Wake 2 DLC, will be in players' hands in October 2024. No release date has been confirmed yet but as the launch window becomes smaller, the studio will eventually provide specifics. Details on the expansion are scarce, but Alan Wake 2 does offer up some suggestions as to what players can expect as the titular Lake House, presumably the same one Alan and Alice visited in the first game, is a hotbed of supernatural activity that even caught the Federal Bureau of Control's Attention.

What Could The Lake House Be About?
Going To The Source Of The Darkness
While it may not have been a huge part of Alan Wake 2, Bird Leg Cabin, which is presumable the location referred to by the title The Lake House, serves as a major location for the writer and his wife. The community is still debating whether or not the house itself is real or a manifestation of The Darkness that serves as a prison for Alan. In any case, the Lake House was where the villainous Barbara Jagger kidnapped Alice after luring Alan Wake to Diver's Isle with the intent of using him to rewrite reality.
The center of darkness-related mysteries in Bright Falls, Cauldron Lake is also mentioned in Control as players can discover a folder on the location. The FBC is confirmed to actively be monitoring the body of water as many agents are suspicious that it's hiding a dark secret underneath its surface. This is later proved in Alan Wake 2 when it's shown that Alan himself is trapped "underwater" in a dark copy of Bird Leg Cabin fashioned by the Dark Presence.
Whatever the case may be, The Lake House will hopefully more questions than solutions to some of the base game's cliffhangers. Players will just need to wait and see what October brings.
