The Alaskan Bush People have been a staple on Discovery Channel's lineup, despite the Brown's family many run-ins with the law. The Wolf Pack has always insisted they love living off the land and being away from the everyday hustle and bustle. However, once they moved to the lower 48, the family found themselves in more trouble than they could have thought.

Alaskan Bush People has taught viewers that family was everything to the Brown family. The remote areas of Alaska and Washington state have made the Wolf Pack strong and depend only on one another. Both Billy and Ami Brown hope that their children will also raise their grandchildren on top of the mountain to keep the legacy going. Throughout the years, the family has mainly kept to themselves, but along the way, they have run into some trouble. Whether it was a dispute with neighbors or the government, the cast has their own little rap sheet.

Viewers always wondered if the Browns had any secrets, and over the years, some have been revealed. The clues have pointed toward many of the ABP Brown family feeling like they're above the law. Some issues have been accidental, while others seemed induced by alcohol. Below are just a few times the Browns had issues with the law.

Billy & Ami Brown

Before Billy ed Alaskan Bush People, he fled to Texas with his underage bride, Ami. In 1980, Billy planned to steal a horse from a nearby neighbor in order to get to the Mexico border. The patriarch was caught and pleaded guilty. Billy was given one year of probation for the incident. Even though Ami was only 15-years-old when she ran away with Billy, she too has a bit of a past. In the 1990s, Ami was charged with welfare fraud.

Matt Brown

Charges of assault made by two women were filed against Matt Brown back in 2018, around the same time he checked himself back into rehab for a second time. Both women said that Matt had been drinking heavily at the time of the attacks. The two women reported the crimes to the LAPD's Tonga Division, and the case was handed over to the D.A., who declined the prosecution. One of the victims, Jessica Jurges, revealed that she used to be a personal assistant to the Brown family and claimed Matt raped her while in a swimming pool on July 8, 2018.

Bam Brown

Alaskan Bush People viewers will recall in 2015, Billy, Ami, and four of their seven children, including Bam Brown, were charged with 60 counts of first-degree unsworn falsification and first and second-degree theft. It was revealed that the Browns had lied on record, saying they lived in Alaska from 2011 to 2013. The fraud was a way for the family to keep receiving Alaska's Permanent Fund Dividend checks. Both Billy and Bam spent time behind bars for the crime.
