Warning: Contains spoilers for Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3!
Although Alfred could actually take them down better than he ever could. Alfred is currently dead in the main DC Comics continuity, so the main version of the Justice League doesn’t need to fear him turning evil. However, in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Alfred is alive and corrupted, to the detriment of the Justice League’s heroes.
Batman’s plans to take down the various of the Justice League in case they ever went bad were used to devastating effect by Ra’s al Ghul in the JLA: Tower of Babel storyline. These plans each exploited an intimate knowledge of the strengths and Batman’s butler and father figure Alfred.
Alfred’s frightening potential is explicitly shown in the currently running series Batman/Superman: World’s Finest written by Mark Waid with art by Dan Mora. The series is set in the past when Alfred is still alive and follows Batman and Superman fighting against the ancient demon Nezha. Nezha is able to take control of various heroes and villains to attempt to eliminate superheroes. These villains and heroes are chosen specifically to counter specific heroes, such as Felix Faust being used to seal up Billy Batson’s mouth so he can’t transform into Shazam. At the end of the third issue it is revealed that Nezha is using Alfred’s deep knowledge of the Justice League and their enemies to orchestrate all of this.
Even if Alfred couldn’t use mind control to get villains to do his bidding like Nezha can, if he wanted to, he could still likely convince them to go along with his plans to defeat the Justice League. Most of these villains hate their respective superhero’s guts, and so would probably happily follow his plans. And as Nightwing showed, Alfred is a billionaire. So he could easily fund these villains, as well. Most importantly is that Alfred’s tactics to defeat the Justice League doesn’t rely on simply exploiting their weaknesses. By using villains as pawns in his plans, he could ensure that the League would never be able to come together and free each other from their death traps like they did in Tower of Babel since he could instruct the villains not to let up until they had killed their enemy.
Alfred has the knowledge, money, and intelligence to devise a perfect plan to eradicate the Justice League. However, thankfully for DC’s heroes, Alfred is too kind to ever do such a thing to them. But as Batman/Superman: World’s Finest shows, if Alfred Pennyworth ever turned evil he would be one of the Justice League’s most fearsome enemies.
