A recent report on Based on a webtoon called Now In Our School, All of Us Are Dead made the most of its relatively simple premise.
Between the action sequences and the characters, there’s plenty to enjoy about All of Us Are Dead. However, the most disappointing aspect of the show has been the lack of updates on season 2. Although a second season was confirmed over two years ago, All of Us Are Dead’s long-awaited return still seems far away.
All Of Us Are Dead’s Season 2 Production Has Reportedly Been Pushed To 2025
All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Might Not Release Until 2026
According to Korean outlet Star News, All of Us Are Dead season 2’s production has been pushed back to 2025. This means that All of Us Are Dead season 2 might only premiere in 2026, four years after the release of the first season. While it is common for Netflix original webseries to take a while to release new seasons, the wait for All of Us Are Dead 2 is entering unprecedented territory. It is unclear if there are plans to produce and film a third season of All of Us Are Dead alongside the second one.
According to the report, All of Us Are Dead season 2's production was delayed to ensure "better production and a better final product."
Netflix used a similar strategy for Sweet Home and Squid Game, both of which took three years to return but were renewed for two additional seasons all at once. Regardless, All of Us Are Dead 2 reportedly only filming in 2025 is very disappointing given that the show premiered on January 2022. All of Us Are Dead season 1 ended on a cliffhanger and set up a lot of things for a potential second season, which was confirmed by Netflix in June of that same year. The only promotional material for season 2 so far has been an announcement video.
All Of Us Are Dead Risks Losing Momentum After So Many Years Of Waiting
All Of Us Are Dead Premiered Almost Three Years Ago Already
Fans of K-drama webseries are used to long waits for new seasons. Those who enjoyed the first season of Sweet Home had to wait three years for the Song Kang K-drama to return, whereas a second season of Squid Game is only arriving on December 26, 2024. That said, just like Sweet Home season 2 struggled to recapture the success of the show's debut, All of Us Are Dead may lose all of its momentum after potentially taking four years to release a new season. The zombie K-drama has a dedicated fanbase, but casual viewers might have forgotten about it already.

20 Best K-Dramas Of 2024
There has been no shortage of incredible K-dramas in 2024, but some have defied expectations to become the year’s best shows in the genre.
The fact that All of Us Are Dead season 2 is expected to deal with the aftermath of the first season makes things more complicated. All of Us Are Dead changed the webtoon’s ending to allow the story to continue past the source material, namely with Nam-ra showing up alongside an unseen group of hambies. All of Us Are Dead 2 will have to do a great job at reminding audiences of the characters and storylines from season 1 before introducing new ones, but even great shows can be hurt by long hiatuses.
A Time Skip Seems Inevitable Now For All Of Us Are Dead Season 2
All Of Us Are Dead Will Have To Age Up The Characters
Considering that All of Us Are Dead season 2 has reportedly not started filming yet, it seems inevitable that the show will include a time skip. This would allow the show to catch up with the real world in of the timeline, which might be essential given the nature of the story. The All of Us Are Dead characters are supposed to be high schoolers in season 1, but after three or more years, this may be impossible to replicate in season 2.

Sweet Home used a similar trick, introducing a one-year time skip at the end of season 2, episode 3. Aside from the disappointingly long wait for season 2, a time jump can actually be good for All of Us Are Dead. After several years between seasons, it may be better if All of Us Are Dead 2 is a fresh start for the show rather than an immediate follow-up to the first season. Hopefully, All of Us Are Dead season 2 will be good enough to make the frustrating wait for its release worth it.
