Potions recipes can be found by Hogwarts Legacy players as they continue their wizarding journey, providing boosts during every combat encounter if the right ingredients were used to craft these items beforehand at the Potion Station in the Room of Requirement. While a couple of these recipes are unlocked through simple story progression, other concoction lists are only available for purchase in shops such as J. Pippin's Potions in Hogsmeade. However, except for one potion that can only be received by players who purchased the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, none of the other recipes are inaccessible and can be easily unlocked even when the narrative concludes.
There are seven potion recipes in total that players are capable of collecting as they adventure around Hogwarts Legacy's iconic locations. Many of the ingredients for these potions are found both in the open world, collected from bushes or the shores of lakes, and on fallen enemies whose loot corresponds to a specific recipe. Due to the myriad of positive benefits each of these potions provides, players are encouraged to explore as much of the Hogwarts and Hogsmeade map as possible to collect ingredients wherever they might be found.

Potion ingredients in Hogwarts Legacy are essential to making these recipes, and players who pay attention to quests are more than able to find everything they need to craft these special items to take advantage of their boosts as fights get harder in the story.
