Here’s everything we know about American Horror Story exhibiting a new terrifying plot in each contained episode instead of each season. Contrary to most Ryan Murphy shows, American Horror Stories had a very compact season 1 with only seven episodes all under an hour long. American Horror Stories is also one of many series by Murphy being released within the same year, including AHS season 10: Double Feature and American Crime Story season 3.

Season 1 concluded with American Horror Stories episode 7, “Game Over,” bringing back several of the season’s characters from the premiere episode, “Rubber Woman,” as well as characters from American Horror Story: Murder House. The only real characters to return from the original series came from Murder House, but future seasons of American Horror Stories leave room for the appearance of characters and locations from other AHS installations. For the most part, American Horror Stories stuck to original premises that introduced a new variety of compelling characters.

American Horror Stories Drive-In Ending Explained

American Horror Stories season 1 brought back memorable AHS veterans like Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, and John Carroll Lynch, while also introducing a new slate of AHS-universe actors. The newcomers of season 1 included Paris Jackson, Kaia Gerber, Aaron Tveit, Madison Bailey, and Danny Trejo. Sarah Paulson was originally announced to direct an episode, but as she is returning for AHS: Double Feature, it’s possible she makes an appearance for American Horror Stories season 2. Ryan Murphy nor FX have confirmed any cast for the installation, but by going off of season 1, audiences can expect to see the return of a lot more familiar AHS faces in the future.

Ryan Murphy has also yet to announce details of future American Horror Stories season 2 episodes. Since American Horror Stories’ inaugural season integrated American Horror Story’s season 1, Murder House, Murphy may continue the trend and introduce new connections to Briarcliff Manor from AHS: Asylum. As Murphy expands the AHS universe, he will likely use several episodes of American Horror Stories season 2 to integrate the other nine AHS seasons into the compact installation.
