American Idol winner Noah Thompson has been busy since taking home the season 20 crown in 2022. Noah, a then-20-year-old construction worker, auditioned for the show when his best friend Arthur signed him up. Noah had no prior performing experience, but Arthur believed in Noah's raw talent. He knew that he would never try out for the show on his own. Noah impressed the judges – Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan – with his rendition of "Giving You Up" by Kameron Marlowe and earned his golden ticket to Hollywood.
During his American Idol journey, Noah grew as an artist. He put his own spin on songs, such as "Falling" by Harry Styles, "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, and "Heartbreak Warfare" by John Mayer. He was impressive when he sang the unexpected choice of "Stay" by Rihanna during his Hollywood Week Showstoppers routine. He performed the song again for his final American Idol performance and somehow sang it even better than the first time. Although the competition was very important to him, he cared most about being the best father he could possibly be to his then-1-year-old son, Walker. Since winning American Idol, Noah has shared his many accomplishments with his fans.

Noah Thompson Releases Music After American Idol
Noah Has Released An EP & Several Singles
After the success of his American Idol single "One Day Tonight," which reached number one on the music charts, Noah followed it up with two other songs. In July 2022, he released a country version of "Stay," his signature song from American Idol. He followed that up in October 2022 with "Make You Rich," a song that was in the running to be his first single. In an interview with Country Now, Noah revealed that on American Idol, he was pitched some songs, but he chose "One Day Tonight" for his first single after going back and forth between that song and "Make You Rich."
However, Noah shared that he loved the message of "Make You Rich." He emphasized the importance of his family and friends, and he "thought that would be a really good song for me to do just to show me as a person, because I was the American Idol winner that went home and got on our freaking lawnmower and cut the grass." Noah added that he wanted people to know that he will never forget who he is by sticking to his roots. Staying true to his words, Noah returned home to Kentucky to film the music video for the song, which includes scenes of him and his son.
In July 2023, Noah released his debut EP, Middle of God Knows Where, which includes the songs "One Day Tonight," "She Gets It From Me," "Make You Rich," "Stay," and two songs co-written by Noah, "Us No More" and "Middle of God Knows Where."
