With so many people playing the online social deduction multiplayer Among Us' gameplay and minimize actions that currently hurt a session or the community as a whole.
The game released in 2018 and was created by InnerSloth's small team of three developers. Among Us's recent success originally prompted them to make a sequel, but instead they are now honing in on certain features they hope to fix via a new update. The developers certainly have their hands full, and will likely address some of the items mentioned on this list.
Currently some of the biggest complaints Among Us players have with the game include not having a way to handle disruptive or inconsiderate players, nor appropriate in-game voice chat or chat regulations, as well as having too little to do if a player gets killed off early. Luckily, it seems the developers are already thinking about how to fix some of these issues, as discussed in a recent TwitchGaming interview. The following changes would enhance Among Us and help make the game more enjoyable all around.
Among Us Voice Chat Needs To Happen
Players have been asking for regulated in-game voice chat in Among Us for awhile now. Currently in an ideal game, players are solely responsible for muting and unmuting themselves at the appropriate times. If the game could do this on its own, that would be one less thing for players to worry about, and no one can be blamed for speaking at the wrong time whether on accident or intentional. Additionally, if ghosts could chat amongst themselves without living Crewmates or Imposters being able to hear, this would make dying not quite as boring as they could still communicate with those who share their demise.
Among Us Ghosts Need More To Do
This segues into the next feature Among Us needs: Having more things for ghosts to do in general besides completing tasks. In the TwitchGaming interview, InnerSloth mentions they've been thinking about how being a ghost can still be fun instead of players having to sit quietly and watch the rest of the game unfold. They even discussed the possibility of a "guardian angel" aspect. Although they didn't elaborate on what this would mean, it implies a way for ghosts to help Crewmates from beyond the grave.
Among Us Trolls Need To Be Reported
Among Us also needs to tighten restrictions on players who have inappropriate names, frequently ditch a game once they learn they're League of Legends handles queue dodging could also deter this kind of behavior. In addition, having an of friend system could also strengthen the game's community as players could keep better track of other s who they've met and enjoyed playing with.
While these are probably the biggest changes that need to happen in Among Us, having more content such as newer maps or customization options are always welcome. Letting players customize certain aspects like their kill animations or being able to receive awards for winning so many games and other achievements would also be a nice touch. InnerSloth has already confirmed they're working on a new map for Among Us in addition to an system and colorblind accessibility. They haven't clarified exactly how these new features will look in the new update, and they've repeatedly stressed these adjustments will take awhile to seamlessly implement. It seems to be just a matter of time before Among Us gets the facelift fans so desperately crave.
