And Just Like That season 2 had some serious issues getting brands to agree to appear on the show after season 1's Peloton moment. The Sex and the City reboot series largely focused on Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) mourning the death of her husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth) after he had a heart attack during his post-Peloton workout shower. This much-memed moment caused Peloton's stock to drop in the show's immediate aftermath, at which point they released a commercial featuring Noth, Peloton instructor Jessica King, and narrator Ryan Reynolds.

And Just Like That season 2 for their summer preview. He revealed that one of his biggest struggles getting the new season together was the fact that many brands were hesitant to appear in the new episodes. He said that he would constantly be asked questions like, "Nothing bad's gonna happen to our product, is it?" Read his full quote below:

This season, every time we wanted to use a product name, people were like, "And how are they gonna use it?" We want [SJP] to wear Gucci. "How is she gonna wear it? Nothing bad's gonna happen to our product, is it?" Look, I was on my Peloton yesterday. I'm alive. It was a story point!

And Just Like That Season 2 Is Moving Away From Mr. Big

Carrie and Aidan walking in And Just Like That

While it makes sense that brands would be nervous, King promises that this season of the series will be much lighter. As Carrie's grief fades and her love life gets back on track, the show will return to the more comic tone that Sex and the City is known for. This much was revealed by the And Just Like That trailer, which teased plenty of fun new storylines for her and her friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis).

One major shift in the new season will be the return of John Corbett as Aidan. The character was one of Carrie's most important non-Big love interests of the series, on which he appeared in 22 episodes. His last appearance in the franchise was the 2010 movie Sex and the City 2, in which he and a married Carrie kissed after a chance meeting in Abu Dhabi.

Corbett ing the And Just Like That cast likely means that the romantic shenanigans will take on a much more familiar shape. While there will be plenty of complicated drama to challenge Carrie, it will likely be more about her romantic travails than her all-consuming grief. However, without the juxtaposition of last season's darker tone, this new lightness might not be appreciated quite as much.
