An excited Animal Crossing: Wild World for the Nintendo DS, the character Brewster is a Pigeon that owns The Roost café, serving coffee to the player for the price of 200 bells.
Since Brewster’s arrival in Wild World, the coffee-brewing Pigeon continued to appear in subsequent entries in the Animal Crossing franchise, with his café either occupying a space in the museum or operating as a standalone store. The café would be visited by special non-villager characters such as K.K. Slider, and even offer players the option to work as a barista behind the counter. His absence from New Horizons had disappointed many fans, with one creative fan creating a bulletin board meme in Animal Crossing to commemorate the missing Brewster.
Reddit Wilbos_World shared a clip showing off their amazing in-game dance made in anticipation of Brewster’s arrival. The video begins with the Redditor’s in-game character watching the recent Nintendo Direct on the television, accompanied by villagers, Lucky, Lolly, Cheri, and Bones, all donning a café uniform outfit. Upon seeing the announcement of Brewster’s cafe, The Roost, Wilbos_World and the villagers begin to dance on the couch, raising their hands in the air to a lo-fi remix of The Roost’s theme song. The Redditor’s character takes the dance a bit further, standing up on the couch and spinning to the rhythm before taking the routine to the museum. Dancing on the steps inside the museum, Wilbos_World continued to express their happiness before finishing the dance in front of the soon-to-be added entrance for the café.
The announcement of The Roost café was briefly teased in a short video during the recent Nintendo Direct, which aired earlier last week. The teaser revealed that New Horizons’ museum would be getting an addition to its facilities in the form of The Roost, which would be situated on the upper floor of the building, and would be open 24/7. Along with the teaser, Nintendo also announced an Animal Crossing direct airing sometime during October, which will reveal more details on the content scheduled to arrive in New Horizons in November.
Wilbos_World’s creative dance video is certainly an excellent way to celebrate Brewster’s imminent arrival, considering how long Animal Crossing fans have patiently waited for the update. Although players will have to wait a little longer until The Roost arrives in November, they will also have Animal Crossing’s October seasonal events to keep them busy in the meantime, including Day of the Dead, and the Halloween event.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
