Animal Crossing villagers are known for their unique personalities, appearances and hobbies - the combination of which give players the opportunity to pick and choose their favorites to inhabit their island. Of the game's hundreds of villagers, a handful emerge as islands; with Raymond the heterochromia cat and Marshal the musical squirrel emerging on top. Players' least favorite villagers, though, are similarly concrete. Clyde the neon-colored horse is considered the least desirable Animal Crossing villager, with various online polls sending the lazy food-lover to the bottom of the NPC popularity list.
Thanks to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update, a player recently recreated the Mean Girls poster using a cast of newly added villagers. Reddit stardew92 ed a photo featuring Faith the koala, Ione the squirrel, Shino the deer and Sasha the rabbit. As indicated by their positioning and clothing, stardew92 casted Faith as Cady Heron, the film's protagonist who attempts to fit-in with her high school's popular clique "The Plastics" - with stardew92 using Ione, Shino and Sasha to play the notorious trio. Ione visibly leads the pack as the film's primary antagonist, queen bee Regina George.
Animal Crossing frequently serves as a medium for players to recreate other aspects of popular culture, with some crafting their islands to look like the world in The Wizard of Oz or other video games like The Legend of Zelda. Movies like Mean Girls often inspire players creations, such as one Home Alone movie trailer scene-for-scene. The game's version of the popular Christmas movie is impressively meticulous, with each interior and character perfectly emulating the real movie.
With so much creative freedom available in Animal Crossing - only increased by its new DLC and 2.0 update - players can feasibly recreate the posters for virtually any movie they desire. For those willing to put in an excessive amount of time and effort (not unheard of amongst the player base), perhaps a future creative in-game project could be the recreation of an entire movie.
