There's Good News For Animal Crossing Fans As The Next Game Could Be Launching As Soon As This Month

At the end of August, Nintendo emailed Animal Crossing fans to inform them that the publisher is discontinuing one of the series’ games: Pocket Camp. This news came as a shock; Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was renowned for its accessibility, as it is free and available on mobile devices for anyone seeking a cozy game from anywhere.

With the news, since Animal Crossing players have considered what this could mean, Pocket Camp's closure could be a good thing as Nintendo promised to remove microtransactions, but at the cost of transitioning the app to a flat fee. Nintendo promised to make an announcement sometime at the end of October, before its closure on November 29 at 7:00 am PT, but players have yet to hear more. That being said, with its closure, Nintendo has disclosed some important details with this notice, such as all application data, and that Leaf Tickets and subscriptions will be transferred to the new version of the game.

Alongside the information on the transfer and what to expect with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s closure, Nintendo has discreetly shared that it intends to release the new version at roughly the same time as Pocket Camp’s end, writing, “it will be released during the same period as the end of service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp," meaning that players can expect a new mobile Animal Crossing game before the end of the year.

If You Plan On Playing The New Animal Crossing Game, Make Sure You Do This In The Old One

Nintendo is moving Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in November, leaving players with a few things to do in the old game before getting the new one.

Otherwise, there has been no other additional information disclosed, such as the title of this game, though it's possible that it will simply be titled Pocket Camp as well. It is likely that it will be revealed during the October announcement, as the company promised to share more about the transfer then.

Save data from Pocket Camp can be transfered to the new, paid game by linking a Nintendo .

Other than the discontinuation of Leaf Tickets and other microtransactions, Nintendo also intends to remove the ability to play online. This allows players to access it without the need for the internet, but consequently removes the ability to connect with others.

Nintendo states that all saved data will be moved over to this new game, but some issues with the original need to be addressed. For instance, Pocket Camp fans want better customization of items and campsites. The gachapon within the game, the fortune cookies, have a chance of returning, and for better, as with the removal of Leaf Tickets, it could be available for everyone to collect cool, rare items.

It has the potential of staying within the New Leaf era, as there is talk that the age of New Horizons is coming to an end, with the potential of a new switch being announced soon too. In the meantime, it is now on Nintendo to inform its fanbase of the changes as well as what to expect in of differences. One thing certain is that Pocket Camp players do not have to worry about the game being gone for too long, as Nintendo seems intent on delivering the new mobile Animal Crossing game when the current Pocket Camp is shut down.
