There are plenty of bugs to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These little critters hide all over players island, waiting to jump out at the worst time. This includes the fast as all get out bug, the centipede.

With June right around the corner, players in the Northern hemisphere will notice these little bugs will start to show up less and less. The centipede in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be disappearing for Northern hemisphere players at the end of the month. So to fill out that Critterpedia, players are going to have to hit the rocks to get this bug collected (literally).

Centipedes are pretty straightforward insects. These elusive bugs can be found in the Northern hemisphere from September until June, while Southern hemisphere players will be able to catch these bad boys from March to December. It's one of the few insects that actually overlap time between the two hemispheres. Honestly, these bugs are not some of the rarest. They're only unavailable for two months out of the year, so catching one should be a breeze.

These bugs also will appear during any environment. It does not matter if players are hunting for these bugs during rain, sun, or any variation thereof. Additionally, the centipede will only appear from 4 PM until 11 PM. If players are searching for these insects in the morning, they will be hard-pressed to find it.

While most bugs can be seen running around, the centipede actually hides in rocks. Much like the pill bug, these insects will only be found in rocks. When getting ready to find a centipede, be sure to have a shovel and bug net equipped.

To find a centipede, simply find a few rocks on the island. When a good one is found, just give it a good hit with the shovel. If players haven't already hit this rock, then some crafting material will pop out. However, if the rock has a centipede in it, that will also jump out from under the rock with the first hit. Centipedes don't stay under rocks after the first smack, so the only reason to keep hitting it would be for more stones, iron, or clay.

Once the centipede jumps out, that bad boy will start running away. Quickly switch to the net and chase after the quick little bug. Players should be able to easily catch the centipede. Although it's quick, it's no where near as fast as other bugs, such as scorpions or tarantulas.

When the centipede is finally in the player's possession, there are a few options as to what to do with it. Of course, handing the first one over to Blathers to ensure the museum is totally up to date is a prime option. However, after the first one, players can either hoard centipedes for whatever reason, or sell them. Because centipedes are not particularly rare, Nook's Cranny only pays about 300 bells for every centipede returned. Players could hold onto the centipede and give it to Flick, who will pay the player 430 bells to sell the centipede to him.
