Animal Crossing New Horizons follows suit with the other titles in the franchise and spices up the gameplay a little bit with random NPC encounters. While New Horizons introduces new characters to the world of Animal Crossing, it also has a lot of returning characters, some of which are random encounters.
One such encounter that fans of the franchise may find familiar is a washed-up bird by the name of Gulliver. And by washed up, I mean washed ashore. This seemingly helpless bird will reward players that help him greatly, but sometimes helping Gulliver can be a bit tricky.
Gulliver's Travails in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Gulliver the Pelican can be found at random intervals throughout the game washed ashore one of the beaches of the player's island. Players will need to speak to the incoherent bird multiple times before he wakes up and comes to his senses. This may seem like help enough saving his life from the rising tide, but players will need to assist him further if they hope to receive any kind of reward for their troubles.
Gulliver will attempt to use his Nook Phone to call for help only to find that his phone is broken. Specifically his phone is missing five Communicator Parts. Instead of loaning Gulliver the players phone, he asks that the player scour the beach in search of the missing parts.
Players will need a shovel and a set of sharp eyes in order to find the missing parts.
Communicator Parts Locations in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Now that players know what they are looking for, it's time to dig up some Communicator Parts. This is easier said than done. The parts are buried in the sand and are not marked with a big "X" like fossils. Instead, the parts are marked by tiny water spouts that appear every so often and disappear in the blink of an eye. There are the same water spouts that mark the locations of Manila Clams.

As every island is different there is no set location for each of the five parts, but all of the parts can be located on the shoreline where Gulliver is found. Spot all five spouts and dig them up to uncover the missing parts.
Gulliver's Gift in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Upon returning the parts to Gulliver he will text his ship-mates to come pick him up (which they never reply to but Gulliver magically gets a ride anyways). He will then tell you that he has nothing on hand but will send you a gift in the mail for your troubles. Gulliver will be gone the next day and will have sent the player a gift in the mail.
