Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to fly to tropical destinations and build their very own island paradise! The player's island will come equipped with its very own airport and they can take planes to islands owned by other players or mystery islands if they are feeling adventurous. Tickets to these mystery islands can be purchased using a brand new currency!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduces a new currency to the game known as Nook Miles. Nook Miles are awarded to the player for completing tasks on the island and can be spent on a variety of goods in the Resident Service Center. Here's a quick look at what some of the smartest Nook Miles investments are in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
How To Spend Your Nook Miles in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Players will need to make their way to the Resident Service Center in order to spend their Nook Miles, using the Nook Stop machine. Select the option that says "Redeem Nook Miles" in order to see the list of available products for purchase. Players can purchase Nook Inc. products, Nook Miles Tickets, DIY recipes, and special features only available through the Nook Stop.
First, players will need to make sure to pay off the 5,000 miles that they owe Tom Nook for moving onto the island. After that, players can spend Nook Miles as they please to purchase from the Nook Stop. Here's a quick breakdown of what to prioritize from the Nook Stop options and what they do:
- Tool Ring: It's Essential! - This will allow players to a feature onto their Nook Phone that will allow them to quickly swap between tools marked as favorite in their inventory. After purchasing the Tool Ring, players can use the directional arrows to swap between tools quickly or pull up a wheel to pick the perfect tool for the job. This should be the first purchase any players make since it is so cheap and time-saving.
- Pretty Good Tools Recipes - This will give the player new DIY recipes for tools that have higher durability than the flimsy tools. Players should pick this up once they have some spare Iron Nuggets to use for the crafting.
- Pocket Organization Guide - This will give players another ten slots in their inventory, allowing them to carry more items at all times! This is one is very expensive, but will drastically improve productivity. Players should save up for this as soon as possible.
- Nook Miles Ticket - The Nook Miles Tickets will be the most common purchase a player makes at the Nook Stop. Nook Miles Tickets allow players to travel to Mystery Islands that are full of useful resources and sometimes occupied by travelers that can be invited to the player's island. Nook Miles Tickets should be purchased if the player is in need of limited materials, like Wood, Iron Nuggets, Stone, or Weeds.
Players should continue to use Nook Miles to purchase Nook Miles Tickets once they have purchased all of the other priority items to possibly discover new fruits, fossils, and flowers while gathering resources.
