One crafty Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan has turned their Nintendo Switch dock into a charming recreation of Nook’s Cranny. Animal Crossing: New Horizons won itself legions of fans on its release last year thanks to its wholesome gameplay and island-hopping mechanic. It became the perfect antidote to the chaos of 2020, and a safe haven for many who couldn't experience the social life they were used to thanks to COVID-19 lockdowns.

One year later, however, things for Animal Crossing: New Horizons are now starting to slow down a bit. All major holidays have been celebrated on the many carefully cultivated islands, and fans are now starting to feel that they have achieved all that they set out to do in the game. The lack of any Animal Crossing related news at E3 2021 is still a real blow to those hoping for more content to inspire their gameplay, even though Doug Bowser has since promised that there will be more ACNH content in the future. However, while Nintendo itself may have stalled a bit, at least for now, fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons certainly have not.

One skilled Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has taken inspiration from the game and brought it to the real world, in the form of a charming Nook’s Cranny dock for their Nintendo Switch. Reddit Mr_Pioupiou shared their adorable creation with fellow Animal Crossing fans, and the response to it has been overwhelmingly positive. Many are now eagerly seeking out the plans to recreate the dock for themselves, although Mr_Pioupiou is keeping their cards close to their chest. They have, however, revealed their online store (Le Coffre a Flonflons), where fans can purchase the dock should they wish. The dock in question is made entirely out of plywood, wood glue, and ink, and captures all of the game’s charm beautifully.

This is not the only building from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to be recreated by talented fans since the game’s release. An incredibly detailed diorama of the famous museum was also shared online earlier this year, which included realistic shrubs and miniature dinosaurs adorning the grass outside.

So, while Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a game may be seeing its popularity wavering ever so slightly, it is evident that as a franchise Nintendo is still holding onto a winner. This can be seen not only in the amazing dedications shared by its fans themselves, but also by the astounding speed that anything Animal Crossing related sells. Amiibos and Build-A-Bear crossovers have been flying off shelves on their release, resulting in periods of unavailability or (more disappointingly) scalpers selling off the coveted merchandise for eyewatering prices. While the gameplay may be needing a bit of a boost, the Animal Crossing brand is clearly still adored far and wide.
